This mean NNW going to pony cars? Or will this be a Mustang on steroids, bigger than the street model? Haven't seen anything about Camaro or the Dodge, what will Toy run?

They've got 6 months to build a few cars for "limited" rollout in 2010. And how many months of haggling when Ford says the Camaro is more aero and Dodge saying the same about Ford and Toy claims they all have more hp and they need concessions,,,,,

And here I thought making the COT (car of trash) bigger was for increased driver safety.

Is this another "cost saving" measure by Na$car requiring teams to build a fleet of new cars with limited sponsor bucks and purses that total maybe 25%
of cup purses. Doesn't matter as cup teams take the top money anyway.

"yer doin' a heck of a job, Brian":sarcasm:

10:55 AM and I'm thinking of having a drink,,,

2010 Mustang

If thats the rough mockup of what the Nationwide Mustang will look like...to me it looks more like the CoT than what they run in the Nationwide.

Brain fart, I forgot that the Nationwide series was getting new cars. Sorry. Still, looks alot like the CoT just without the wings.

from what I can tell, it's a COT with the nationwide wheelbase, and a spoiler in leu of wing (more front downforce bias). Also, suspension will be different.

Looks like a SCAA or Trans Am car. The Mustang is known as a pony car that's shorter, narrower and lower than the full size Chevy or Dodge.

How are they going to "grow" a Mustang and have it maintain it's identity? Jack Roush is no dope, he'll have his group working on this 24/7 creating a car with next to zero drag and max downforce at the same time. Getting concession after concession from Na$car.

Trans Am cars? How about a Trans Am car in the midst of the Corkscrew.

and exiting the Corkscrew.

From a marketing standpoint that would be a very stupid desision by Chevy to leave the camaro out. Why in the world would they ignore such a great oportunity to sell a damn car other than the piece of crap impala?
Remember, Washington owns GM now so there is no thinking or logic there.:D

I always thought for Cup the Malibu was the more logical choice than the Impala, myself.

If they decide to market the "pony cars" in Nationwide, I wonder what Toyota would field? The Supra? There have been persistant rumors for years about them bringing that line back. NASCAR would be a hell of a promotional tool for them.

Or they could promote their Scion line using the Xc or something like it.

Toyota has a Solara which is a little sportier, I see a lot of 2 doors and convertibles

Yeah, if it was up to those loopy crackheads up there, GM would bring back the Chevette and try to run it on the Cup circuit.
