It's hard to believe, in a lot of ways, but today is my 20th wedding anniversary. In some ways it seems like our wedding was a lot more than 20 years ago, in other ways it seems like it hasn't been nearly that long. Neither one of us is nearly perfect, but accepting each other's faults and learning which of those faults we can improve upon is a life long lesson that it seems we are just beginning. Lord willing, we will have a lot more of these to celebrate. We've endured an awful lot of shots over the years, but it certainly seems to have strengthened our resolve, if nothing else.
We have a lot of blessing as well, three of the biggest ones are sleeping right now. They are certainly not perfect either, but it is still amazing to watch them grow and learn and develop into the people that they are and will become. I guess it takes a benchmark like this to allow me to be more grateful for the things I have. I know that a self-examined life is the only one to live, but sometimes in that self-examination I fail to focus on the positive. Pardon my rambling, but some things just have to be said from time to time.
