My Absence from The Forum

The odds are pretty good that I will be taking a Consulting job in Charlotte and will be absent from the Forum most of the time. I will probably stay in a motel 4 nights a week and travel home on weekends, driving back to Charlotte very early on Monday mornings.

I have been retired for over 16 years and it is a little scary to me. Hopefully, I will be able to get back in the swing of things. The one thing that hasn't been discussed yet with my potential employer is $$$$. That will be the last thing to be discussed. Things should be resolved regarding my possible employment very soon, maybe next week.
 
Well just so you won't get too lonely...so get busy and report back which you prefer...

By the way, I have some exciting news. I will be working at the Maryland International Raceway in 2008 as a reporter, recaping the action and going full circle with the stories race fans love most.

Everybody loves first time winners, comeback kids, or even the hometown driver who had a valiant effort and overcame the odds. These will be the stories that we'll hear about more.

I know what you are doing Andy. You are getting some experience so you can get a job with ESPN. :beerbang: You go boy.
 
Things are firming up and it looks pretty definite that I will have employment in Charlotte on a consulting basis. It will probably be another 2 or 3 weeks before things are worked out. I am pretty pleased, to say the least.

Today I was offered, for rent, Kelley Elledge's Condo in Mooresville which she is going to sell. I turned it down due to the distance and time it would take me to drive to downton Charlotte every day which is where I will be working.
 
Muggle, I'm going to miss teasing you about Gordon. You're one of the few that don't get there drawers in a wad when I aggravate them. :D

Unfortunately I don't have a laptop. A few friends are helping me find a place to live and my wife and I may drive down and check out a few sometime soon.

Getting close to finalizing acceptance of the job. They asked me today when I can report. It still will depend on the $$$$$$. We haven't agreed on a number. I will turn it down if the number isn't right.

I chose the job in Charlotte after much negotiating and consideration and will start on Monday, April 14. I will have a drug test done today.
 
Oh no, are you worried that the mj you and I along with bp smoked last weekend will show up? Oh wait, sorry Mugg, it wasn't you. Where's my mind? Anyway, good luck with the test as I'm sure you are smart enough to pass. But don't study too hard.

Shoot, all I had to do was pee in a cup. If they detect anything it means they got the vials mixed up, and I am sure they didn't as I had to "Initial" each vial.
 
Just a quick hello. Things are going well. I believe I am going to enjoy the job. I have been getting myself oriented this week. Everyone is treating me very, very, well. my apartment is very nice, I walk to work every morning, about a mile and take the trolley home in late afternoon. I also walk most night on the treadmill in the fitness center of the apartment. I will have every other Friday off as well as Sat. and Sun. Keep the home fires burning.

Kelloggs I guess we scared Muggle off. He found out we lived near Knoxville and he ran to Charlotte.
 
Oh cripes, I thought that he would be gone and that I could rule the roost, but no, seems as though he has access to a computer. Oh darn! Oh well, I had a blast thinking that I was king of the ... what the hell is this anyway? Okay, I thought I was king of ... but now I know, Muggle is still the king.

OK Muggle, the real truth comes out now. Like on Paul Harvey we got the rest of the story.


Fans had paid several hundred dollars for access to VIP areas during the private grand opening earlier this week of Whisky River, which is across the street from Charlotte's downtown arena.
