My older brother whos a Sergeant in the United States Army flew off to the Mobilization station in Missouri. He has a very critical job as he's a sergeant with the U.S Army Reserve 375th Chemical Company. After Missouri and eventually Lousiana (although I thought he was going to Ft. Campbell in Kentucky or Ft. Bragg in North Carolina for Airborne training, he may, or may not) he could be shipped off anywhere to either Korea, Iraq or Afghanistan. I know how serious the situation in Iraq is, so I'm hoping and praying that my brother and the rest of the company can get through the crisis over there alive and ok.

Where I'm from, heres an article about it: Click Here

I felt a little down this morning about it when I went with him to see him off at the Army Reserve Center here, but I hope to remain in contact with him for the year or so that he's on active duty because he does have a labtop I can email him through.

Well, I know he'll be arright and god willing everyone in the unit makes it out ok too. I appreciate all of your prayers, thanks and god bless you all.

Keep us informed Happy, we are all here for each other. I will say a little prayer for your brother and his company.

Your brother is a hero in my eyes and I will keep him in my prayers.

May the good Lord watch over your brother and bless him and his fellow patriots. Please tell him that we appreciate all that they are doing for the good of our country! :salute:

Tell him to take care of himself & we all support him and the rest of the troops 110%. :salute:

Is he in Knob Knoster? That isn't very far away from me! Tell him to blow up Saddam for us, and tell him we appreciate it. :) :salute:

Happy, I'll be praying for his speedy and safe return. Tell him I appreciate what he's doing and I support him and all his company. They are heroes and I am proud of them. :salute:

Good luck to him Happy.Lousiana?Ft Polk?Damn...a tough base if it is.I was a chemical operative as my primary MOS and spent a lot of time at Ft.McClellan before they shut it down.Chem detatchments seldom take Airborne training but it's been awhile since I left the service. The 375th is known to me and is a top notch outfit. After regular service I was assigned to the 304th chemical unit myself.Pretty sure I trained at Camp Shelby Miss. with the 375th.What is your brothers MOS?54c or 54e?Just curious as it was all still pretty experimental back when I was in,although the chemical corp did a lot in the gulf war when I was over there.

Anyway, best wishes to him and your family.Tell him I said 'choke and puke'!He'll get it.

Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts everyone, and I'll be sure to tell him the "choke and puke" message. He is in the Chemical/Biological Warfare unit, dont want to reveal too much because I dont really know the deep deep aspects of it, but he and the company goin over there are more detection rather than decontamination, all, if not most of the "decon" boys and girls are stayin here. I'm assuming they'll probably be practicing and operating the Humvees and BIDS they'll be using over wherever theyre going.

I sent him an email not too long ago about 3 or 4 hours, I'm pretty sure they're still going into the mobilization aspect but I'm pretty sure he'll probably respond in a day or so.

Yeah.NBC warfare.Nuclear, biological and chemical. The 'crossed flasks' unit.Without doubt, your brother would have trained with my old guys at McClellan if it were still operational. The deep aspects are pretty well known to me personally because we served a similar role in the first gulf war.(Detect and decon=choke and puke.)I served a lot of years in one of your brothers 'sister' unit's---actually all under the same NBC warfare umbrella. This all makes me a little nostalgic for those days.Rarely have I heard of any chem-agents I didnt serve with. When I went in---probably before your brother was born even---less than three hundred of the corp existed. Was highly classified back in those days when Noriega was the dictator of the week. What is interesting is your mention of La.That would indicate Ft.Polk----a hellish 11bravo base.Training will be tough there this time of year.A large range is used to train in deployments there and in overland transport manuevers---we used jeeps back then,I rarely saw any HMV's and never drove one.Anyway, this is just my old bread and butter, sorry to ramble on.

Again, best wishes to those soldiers. We will all be praying for those guys and all our guys.

An update of sorts, I've been receiving phone calls and emails from my brother over there. He said he was just fine and he did hear about the Busch/Spencer thing. I told him how the Winston Cup Race for the Championship was goin because he's a big big Earnhardt Jr fan.

I still dont know where he and the rest of the Chem/Bio guys are going, it could be anywhere. But I'm hoping the best, I'll keep you guys updated on the situation.

Ok, update now:

I received very good news, the boys and girls of the 375th unit just went over to Ft. McClellan, my knowledge of military base locations is very limited but I believe that is in Alabama perhaps ? Well, I get emails from my brother each day, I just got a photo of him getting his Sergeant stripes at a promotion ceremony. The stripes were even given to them by Major General Michael Symanski of the 89th Army Reserve Regional Support command over there. The question still remains whether the unit will be re-deployed to Afghanistan, Iraq or North Korea; wherever they go I know they'll all be ready to do their jobs

I also received some excellent news that he may come home for a respite before November just in time for my birthday on November 20th :) !

Of course, I'll keep ya guys updated ! See y'all later
