My day at the race

We got there at 5pm, had to park about a mile away from the track and pay 20$ to park. We walked around the for awhile and looked around, I bought a new JG hat. Then we sat down to watch the race, during driver interviews you could easily tell fans were mad at tony. Tony got the most boos, while of course jr got the most hurrays. Surprisingly to me though jr got more boos then I thought he would and jeff didnt get as many boos as I expected.

The race was really good until the end, Its not that jr won that bothered me I was just disapointed by the gap between 1st and 2nd, I mean come on this is short track racing. Anyway on the way out somehow we ended up going the wrong way at first, by the time we realized it we had already gone about a half mile in the wrong direction. Luckily though I guess because of where we parked, trafic wasnt a big problem we barely waited at all. Overall I had a great time, things have changed alot since the last time I went. Ill probally try to go to more races now.

Turns out my digital camera had some problems working  , but a friend brought a regular camera, as soon as he gets them developed Ill post them.

Glad you had a good time. Sometimes parking away has an advantage. It wouldn't be for me, 'cause if I had to walk a mile, somebody would have to call 911 to resuscitate me! LOL

Smack500 don't worry I got lost too ^_^ I don't know how many fenced in area's RIR has but It sure took awhile to get out them :D

We sat on the back stretch near the top of the lower level. These have to be the worst seats as the angle is very shallow. You cannot see the cars on the backstretch because they run against the wall. You only catch a glimpse of the cars on the front stretch because of the Victory Lane sign and the Hollywood Hotel. All 4 turns are visible but we couldn't see the exit of turn 2 where several drivers had problems. Of course, pit road is non existent.

Due to my wife having been in an accident this was our 1st trip back at a track in 4 years. I guess I am out of touch with the majority of fans. Lil'E got his applause when he went by on the introductions as I expected. But, I swear this is the truth. As Lil'E came off the turn of the 1st pace lap some yahoo jumped up, pointed and started screaming "there he is, there he is". This got several hundred people on their feet clapping, yelling etc. Then when Lil'E went into 3 they sat down. I figured, OK, 1st lap excitement. 2nd lap, same scenario. 3rd lap. 4th lap. I thought to myself surely they aren't going to do this the entire 400 laps of the race. I thought wrong. Each and every lap, as Lil'E came down the backstretch this same guy would jump up and point and scream something to the effect that Lil'E was coming and hundreds of people around us would all jump up and clap and yell. At first it was funny. Then it became annoying. Then I started to feel sorry for this group of people whose sole existence revolved around a 30yo driving a car past them. I have never seen or heard of a display of this sort anywhere. It is really sad... :(

That sounds a bit strange to me. I think I would have gotten annoyed too.

BarleyPure you must have been just a little up above me. I could see Turns 2 and 4 but on the back stretch they ran so close to the wall you really couldn't see much. It seemed like every time Jr went by in the Lead folks where standing up and then there must have been a fight in the stands cause I had to stand up for awhile and watch the Race cause some of the fans stood to watch the fight. But It was still pretty fun :)

It wasnt that bad where we sat only a couple of people were doing that, but it was verry anoying. What was more anoying was the drunk idiots, everytime a nice looking girl stood up you could hear several hollaring " take it off" and other things I wont mention.

As far as seeing the track, we had pretty good seats, only parts I couldnt see was where they had the huge nextel screen at.

Do the Lil'E fans do that at all the tracks?

I forgot about the annoying drunk idiots wanting the girls to show their "puppies". I made a couple of them mad. And, about the huge Nextel screen, I'm thankful for that. It allowed me to see the race. I hope to sit down tonight and watch the race to see what I missed.

Ok like I said my digital camera isnt working, I think I droped it on the way back from the race. Anyway my friend took these with a disposable camera and the pics arent to good but there all I have.

Yep. I just don't believe women should be subjected to that kind of behavior. In their defense they were indiscriminate in who they chose. As long as the person was female...
