I have very bad news...my cat, Leo Bug is sick again. He has stones again and cannot pee. I am so down. I called the vet today, Sunday, and got him in and sure enough his bladder is full.

This time around, they are going to basically turn him into a girl kitty. His ***** is too small and keeps getting blocked so they are going to try a procedure on him to open him up and cut his ***** off. I know that is TMI but they are trying to save his life.

I know what some of you are thinking...put him down. I love this cat so much. He is perfectly healthy except for his urinary problems. I wish you could have seen him in the vets office this morning, loving all over the vet.

Leo is on the right.

Cute little critters. Best of luck to your little buddy! B)

Thank you both.

Yesterday they managed to clear the obstruction so he could pee, they will be operating on him today.

Hope everything went well. How long have you had him?

I'm sorry for your kitty. Hope all is well.

He's a cute little guy (or girl now I guess). What type is he?

Awww...I feel terrible for him and hope everything goes well.

On a side note...I had kidney stones 2 years ago and it was THE WORST THING IMAGINABLE. Every woman I know who has given birth and had kidney stones during there life has told me kidney stones are 1 million times more painful than child birth. It's even supposedly much more painful for men too.

I think that stuff is fairly common in male cats, my youngest daughter is quite active in an animal shelter and I recall hearing her talk about blockages like that all the time. Best of luck to you and the critter, Im sure they will fix him up :)

Sorry to hear it Lisa. My cat had the same problem about three years ago and had to have the same operation. They say it's very common in male cats from 2-6 years old, mine was 4 when he went through it. It was a rough couple weeks for him, but he's healthy as ever now. Leo should be good to go after the operation.

I have only had one cat and no experience with this, but I hope everything works out for your cat.

Hopefully he will heal and be pain free soon.

I hope you are right, they told me there could be complications. I'm really worried still.
