I wonder why he installed cougar lights? Is that what Eleanor had?

67/68 Cougar lights were three-bulb, sequential, like the early T-Birds. Shelby used a Cougar tail light panel, without the Cougar chrome trim, in the original Shelbys. The mechanical electronic units originally used in the Cougars were state of the art for the day. The units were attached to cardboard-like trunk panel trim in the 1/4 panel well area of the trunk. When the 67&68 cars aged, dust and debris gathered in the 1/4 panel wells of the trunk and plugged up the rubber trunk drains. If the deck lid weatherstrip was aged, rainwater would seep in, pool in the bottom of the 1/4 panel wells and rust the relays and electrical components that made up the sequential turn signal units. The result was non-sequential, 3-bulb turn signals.
The sequential turn signal units for the new Mustangs are completely solid state electronics. Similar solid state control units are now available for 60's era Ford cars with sequential turn signals, as a replacement for the old mechanical electronic units.

I had a 67 Mustang notchback and the rear wells on them were notorious for collecting moisture....leading to rust

This sits in my garage...

This picture was taken in the mid-90s. The car is exactly the same today. I suppose I should finish it. It has been in a garage since the late 80s. I was offered $35,000 for it last year.
Factory S-code, 4-speed car makes it worth a lot. Who knows what it'll be worth if I rebuild everything and paint it up and stick it back in the garage for another 20 years. I got a lot of bitchen tickets in this car.

Sweet! great project car.

I cannot even get into the garage now. I have to move a bunch of parts to my storage. I want to paint the short bed truck and get it into the garage with the Mustang.
When DJ was here in March, I caught him in the doorway taking pics (of the car.)

In 67a dealership in Canada sold a Mustang called the the Stallion.one if the features on the car were tail lights from a Cougar. I'd post a pic but I don't know how to do it on my phone
