My nephew just got deployed

My nephew Nick is flying out today to the Persian Gulf. He will be aboard the USS Valley Forge, which is part of the battle group for the aircraft carrier "Constellation". He has been in the Navy for a few years now but up until a few weeks ago it was always in and around Washington DC. He has been in intelligence. I'm not sure what he will be doing over there exactly, but I'm sure he and especially his parents could use a lot of prayer. His dad is a retired Master Chief from the Navy, so he is taking this fairly well. But, I'm sure his mom is a complete mess. She is extremely proud of him as she should be. He was named Sailor of the Year last year (he said it really wasn't that impressive as there were only about 1500 people whom he was chosen from). He is really a great kid and it makes me proud to just be his uncle. Please continue to keep Nick and all of our men and women who are laying it all on the line for us (Literally!) in your thoughts and prayers. Thank You, Chris

Thanks Bowtie. I didn't mean to imply that I wish he wasn't going. I am actually very proud he is going. I just obviously am concerned for his safe return and I really am concerned for his Mom. She has always been very close to all 4 of her kids. Two of them just got married and moved out and now one is going half-way across the world.
 
He will be in our thoughts as will all the men and women of the military engaged in Persian Gulf. :lilangel:
 
All the troops are in my prayers, but now I will have a "name" to pray for. :lilangel:
