I have been touting for some time for NASCAR to totally revamp the schedule. I'm all for shuffling the deck with the schedule except for leaving some key dates in the same spots. Otherwise, mix it up. I'm also for shortening the schedule back down to 32 races. That means 4 races would have to go away. I'm for taking away the least favorites among fans that have 2 dates (Michigan, Pocono, Loudon, and Kansas). But if the second Charlotte race and some other races can't pick up their attendance, drop them and add another track and give a second date to an existing track.

Having said all of that, I have formuated a schedule based on 2014 dates. There is some flexibility built-in as far as when Easter falls, moving some tracks in and out of The Chase. I have also moved the Daytona 500 up a week where it used to be. And by shortening the season and ending the season earlier, The Chase now begins with Bristol, then moves to Darlington on Labor Day weekend. How's that to start The Chase? And that gives NASCAR a two week jump on starting The Chase before the NFL season begins.

Daytona 500 16-Feb
Homestead 23-Feb
Phoenix 2-Mar
California 9-Mar
Texas 23-Mar
Las Vegas 6-Apr

The thing about the final 10 races is races could be swapped in an out to mix things up.

I like the idea of moving Darlington back to Labor Day weekend. From what I've heard though, they're very happy with their Mother's Day weekend date.
