I just got a new scanner for the race next weekend i cant wait... Its my first race:beerbang: :) :D
 
I love my scanner. I usually listen to either the radio or tv broadcast and fix my scanner if Gordon says anything it goes to what he says.
 
Congrats! Have fun! It's about time for me to start charging up mine for Bristol!
 
It's $370. It still rents for $70 for a weekend or $50 for a single day. So just over 5 weekends and it pays to have bought one. Except this is a 1st generation machine. I'm betting that they're already working on a better unit.
I had thought about renting one last year but they had problems in the Demo tent they didn't know how to fix so I wasn't all warm and fuzzy to drop that amount of money for something that may not work. I'd hate to have bounced the darn thing off of a certain red car due to frustration. I stuck with my lil' cheap scanner.
 
They told us at Lowe's Motor Speedway that you have to give them a credit card to hold. If you drop it or it gets wet or something and gets ruined they will charge $500 to your credit card.
