Hey everyone, its around 10:30 Friday night and I guess my thanksgiving just officially ended. At the request of my father, I brought one of my students with me to our family thanksgiving. His name is Ozan and he's from Turkey. (it wasn't that I didn't want to bring him, I just didn't know if it was okay) We went to all of the family stuff, my family, my girlfriend's family and then back to Bowling Green. All in one day, we drove from Bowling Green to Winchester, Winchester to Beattyville and then back to Bowling Green...exhausted. So I told Ozan and two of my other Turkish students (there are only three, so they don't have the buddy system set up that the asian students have) that I would take them shopping on Black Friday...this was interesting, but I won't go into detail. So, they decided to buy a load of food from Wal Mart and have Turkish Feast at my house...and let me tell you what, Turkish food is AMAZING.
We had Kebobs, steaks, three kinds of salad, mushrooms...all delicious. We grilled in the front yard and then set up a table and some chairs, and a stereo and just sat around and ate and talked. It was great. So then we came in and watched the 2nd Lord of the Rings and afterwards, I took them back to the dorms. I had a great time.
Just wanted to share this with everyone.
