Long, oversized motor by .017 ci, 200 owner and driver points, $200,000 fine, suspended
Robby Gordon, over the 1 degree allowed in rear camber, 50 owner and driver points, $50,000 fine, on double secret probation.

Long did not run in a race and collect points and earnings, Gordon did.

I don't believe Long has had a previous infraction. Gordon had the nose piece at Daytona and has his own chair :)D) in the Na$car truck.

Fair? Discuss among yerselves,,,,

actuallt this has already been discssed in another thread, why do we need to do it again?

Maybe that's why he said to discuss it amongst yourselves. Since it had already been discussed publicly he was tire of hearing about it...

An illegal engine is viewed as a more blatant infraction than running an illegeal rear end.

Is that like being pregnant is a lot worse than being a little bit pregnant?

My point was the wide range of penalty, isn't one just as bad as the other?

No. An illegal engine is the ultimate sin in racing, especially in NASCAR.

Can't compare it to a sin, more like a crime committed. If you rob a little old lady and take her purse, you'll get a few days in jail and pay a small fine. But if you kill a little old lady, they'll throw you under the jail.
