When will NA$CAR have their own TV network? NFL has their own network? NBA, MLB, NFL,tennis, golf, all have their own TV networks. So when will NA$CAR?
If they ever had one, I rather it be like how the WWE Network is, which is kind of like Netflix where you can go and just pick stuff to watch, they can have live shows and stuff on it, have it so you can go and watch Old races as well. But besides that I'm not sure how well it would work.

It's something if done right could be really great.I think that's how it would be as well. More of a streaming service instead of a cable network.
Does NASCAR not own some sort of rights to it also? I would think they have a right to show any of their races.Yeah, this would actually fill a legitimate niche and would be very low cost to produce if it were online only. The problem is that many different entities own the rights to those old races, and it would be difficult to structure it and make them all happy.
The answer to the original question about an a live TV network is not in the next decade, as Fox and NBC are overpaying for NASCAR to build their own cable networks and wouldn't ever, ever, ever allow it.

Well I would hope they pay for the rights if they ever did this. I can easily find them on YouTube but be nice to have easier accessNo, that's what the networks are buying when they buy those rights. Exclusive rights to broadcast the events, both live as it happens and effectively in perpetuity. CBS still owns all those old Daytona 500's, and if it turns up somewhere else, they're getting paid.
I never would have thought I would regret TBS and ESPN losing their rights to NASCAR.With cable bills going up the way they are,NASCAR will be a thing of the past for many fans.I have to have a special sports package to get it now.
Remember the Speed Channel, yeah, that was as close to a NASCAR network we will see. When will NA$CAR have their own TV network? NFL has their own network? NBA, MLB, NFL,tennis, golf, all have their own TV networks. So when will NA$CAR?

I'd gladly pay for a NASCAR Channel that would offer me uninterrupted coverage of the races with scanner and in-car camera access. The technology's there but the demand probably isn't.
During the season we already have coverage of almost every practice and qualifying session. Maybe even all if you include streaming. There are nightly NASCAR shows that are also being broadcast during the season.
I doubt there could be enough demand to broadcast old races. Heck, they're having trouble trying to get people to watch the live ones now.
The NFL is the 800-lb gorilla, with a fan base large enough to prop up a dedicated channel. Fantasy football draws people to watch all games, not just those of their favorite teams.
Of the sports you mentioned, I think NFL is the only one making it as a dedicated pay-per-view channel. I believe all the rest are included in with other channels at part of upper tier packages or in sport channel packages. I could well be wrong, since I'm not interested in the NFL Network so I haven't researched its pricing and model.
NBA and MLB have plenty of teams so someone is playing almost every night of their season; plenty of content, plenty of fan bases. Tennis and golf draw from several international circuits; again, plenty of content, and they show instructional programming when nothing else is on.
NASCAR has three days of activity a week, most of it during the day. That won't fill a weekly schedule, esp. at night. There's no profit in covering anything at the K&N level or below. They're not active outside the US, so a network couldn't draw additional content from elsewhere. There's no audience for instructional programs; few are interested in learning how to improve their game, assuming they could afford it. Speed Channel and content on other networks showed there isn't much interest in 'lifestyle programming'. They'd have to have something to fill those other four days of the week, and I don't see where they'd get it. The rights to old races are held by at least 8 different networks and maybe even the tracks that hosted them.
A network dedicated entirely to racing of all forms might work, but they'd have to secure contracts will series from multiple sanctioning bodies. That isn't likely to happen while each of those agencies is making plenty of money from its individual TV contracts. And you still have the problem that most activity occupies three days a week; what do you show on the other four?
In short, there's no profit in it. If somebody thought there was, they'd be doing it.
EDIT - I forgot, there are some channels dedicated to specific college conferences. I have no clue if they're active after football season. If they are, they certainly have plenty of content to draw from, and some alumni will watch anything with their school's teams.
