Just trying to gauge everyone thoughts on the 2012 season. I just wanted to see what the general consensus is. You don't have to comment if you don't want or if you like, jump on your soapbox. What grade do you give NASCAR through this first part of the 2012 season?

I'm grading it a 'C'. There nothing that has really stood out for me this season so far unlike last season where we had eleven different drivers win through the first eleven races. This year though, the points are much tighter at the top of the leader board through the first eleven races. Hopefully that will give us more to talk about leading up through the Chase.

"D" -- the only memorable moment all season occured during a caution break. The racing is just not good. The Nationwide and Truck Series races have been solid though.

I gave it a 'B' because NASCAR has typically been boring at the start of the regular season. For varying reasons, I'm seeing a little extra hunger and / or agressiveness from drivers such as Jeff Gordon, Clint Bowyer, Truex Jr, THE Jr, and others. Even JJ doesn't seem able to sit back and do a bunch of Chadskie testing this year.

IMO, we ain't seen nothing yet!

My comments are mainly toward Cup, because the racing always seemed better in NW and Trucks. Even they have gotten more exciting.

I agree with FB on everything he posted!
He must have found where I stash my bong...

I'm gonna give a couple separate grades.
NASCAR as a sanctioning body- C. they've dropped the ball a couple times already. Especially at Daytona with JJ. Theres also been some questionable calls in races. Matt Kenseth was deemed okay to beat the leader back to the line 3 times this year and twice in one race. Even though the rule is you can't beat the leader to the stripe. It's these incidents and others that lead to questions.

The racing- B-. The races do seem a little flat this year but we still are seeing some great racing. Not in Texas however! I think they'll step it up though as the cut off for the chase is approaching quickly with a lot of guys on the outside that really need to perform.

Hard to give it a fair grade when Fox isn't supposedly showing us all the action.

And they don't. The producers make up this story line, and they follow it. Unless somebody hits the wall. Rarely do we hear about what's going on in what car.

Lol. Wait till ESPN & TNT takes over.

So true! People talk about how much they dislike FOX (me included) until a CUP Race is shown on ABC...
But in less than 3 short weeks we will be finished with the Waltrip Bros. Comedy Showcase!!!!!!
That is cause for celebration in and of itself!

Lol. Wait till ESPN & TNT takes over.

They all suck. Fox is just one long string of commercials with DW and Mikey acting like two morons. TNT has Kyle Petty who has to be one of the worst TV guys in the history of sports programming. I could be wrong but I don't believe ESPN cares nearly as much about Nascar as they do college sports. JMO

I wish we could have people who just talked about racing without the corny jokes and annoying segments.

Yeah, it should be more like this place! ;)

I mute the Wally bro's when they really get going. I would like to cameras in more cars, and radio traffic tie ins. It would be great to see and hear both sides as the battle unfolds. I don't even care if it's a hard battle for 20th.

I gues spellin n grammer costed us an A+.

So YOU are taking the blame, FB? That makes TWO great revelations by FB in ONE day!
First we learn that he feels that he is is at fault for costing us on our GPA.
We also learned today that he suffers from ADHD, which is no joking matter.

I can't tell you how proud I am at this moment! I feel like we, as a group, have turned a corner!

I love NASCAR racing so much that I don't think I could ever give it a bad grade. Hell, even the Crashadega races are something I will never miss. NASCAR has become ingrained into me. Obviously there are some things regarding NASCAR that annoy the hell out of me from time to time but never bad enough for me to consider missing a single race, qualifying session or televised practice.

I hate to be a stickler for details, but there is only 1 'is' in 'is'. :p

I never miss a race (CUP, N'wide or NCWTS) - even if I have to record it on my DVR for later consumption.
I do not go out of my way to watch qualifying or practice though.
