NASCAR announced Tuesday it has suspended Craftsman Truck Series driver Tyler Walker for violating its substance-abuse policy.

Walker, who competed in six truck races for Bill Davis Racing this year, has been suspended indefinitely. NASCAR said Walker was found to have violated its substance abuse policy May 18, the date of the race at Lowe's Motor Speedway

Hell I figured he was high on drugs when he tried to pass in the esses at Watkins Glen in a Busch Race a couple years ago. That idiotic move led to his release.

Apparently not to him and :

Former Busch and Truck series driver Kevin Grubb was the last NASCAR driver suspended for violation of the substance abuse policy. He received an indefinite suspension -- his second -- from NASCAR last September following his second violation of the policy.

Shane Hmiel has a lifetime ban.

Man, that breaks my heart to read that, seriously.
Tyler is a fantastic kid, as a person, and I really can't believe this, really I can't. I've met him a few times and he seems like a VERY straight kid.
I really don't know whether to feel sorry or be mad at him.

I think be mad at him. These kids have such a future in front of them and the mess up like that. Guess the pressure just gets to them. Sometimes they just get with the wrong crowd.

Personally, I don't use pot but have many friends that do and I have no problem with that.

However, being under the influence of illegal narcotics while behind the wheel of an automobile is far from recreational.

I'm with Kat, trashing a promising and lucritive career for a few hoots is, IMHO, foolish.

Good thing they caught him before someone other than him payed for his lack of judgement.

Hopefully this is a wake-up call and he'll get his **** straightened out.
