I listened to Matt Kenseth's media session a little bit ago. No offense to you Jimmie Johnson / Matt Kenseth fans out there but dang these two are boring going head to head. Why couldn't we have had a couple of hot heads going at each other week after week? Where's some animosity when you need it? Kenseth talks about how well their kids get along and how everyone is firends while the #48 group misdirects their efforts towards Keselowski.

Tony, where are you? Get well soon buddy! We need you back here, and fast.

This is why I called it the diaper cup.

I liken Nascar drivers to the average Facebook user, some constantly crave attention and the spotlight while others quietly go about their business maintaining some mature dignity.

Kenseth and Johnson don't come with all the needless drama of a Facebook user going through a bout of road rage but instead do their jobs and drive the cars that their paid to drive. That's their job.

Drama? No. Racing? Yes. I prefer the latter but YMMV.

You know what always has exciting guys contending for championships? Professional wrestling.

Eh, I wouldn't say they were contending, Professional wrestling is scripted so there's no real contentions.

It results in a great on-track product - two of the best, smoothest racers going at it. But damn they're boring as hell off-track.

So you want a Busch/Harvick matchup; they would probably produce some good forum fodder. Busch used to say some pretty stupid stuff but I think the sponsors "re-educated" him and Harvick still speaks without thinking. I think Tony was pretty much the professional during his recent championship run (probably because everything was going his way).

I think the Kenseth/Johnson match up is one of the best in recent years. We have the gold standard going against a veteran who has found something with a new team.

I have absoutely no problem with how they are on and off the track when it comes to personal lives.

I do think its wierd for two competitors to be shaking hands and be hugs and kisses while battling for a championship.

You just dont see that anywhere else. Only reason to be shaking hands with your main competitor is to congratulate each other when either wins the championship. Any hugging and kisses before that is totally unnecessary.

I liked the Brad k/JJ chase matchup the most so far. Sure Tony's was the closest & very entertaining but Carl lacked personality. Brad k and JJ it was kinda like Anakin vs Obi Wan. One is younger & will take risks while the other is older with far more experience.

These guys are constantly around each other, and have built a friendship over the years. Players on different football/basketball/baseball teams generally don't become good friends. It's a product of being around and competing with the same guys every single week for the entire season.

I dont remember Jimmie and Jeff being this cute together back while they were engaged in battle back in 2007.

You actually even heard Jimmie saying that he wanted to beat Gordon so badly from the time he came into the sport when he finally got that victory at Martinsville.

Jimmie and Jeff can race hard on track and be best friends off the track too. Its all relative I guess.

How are Jimmie and Matt being cute? All I heard about niceties was the story about Play-doh or whatever, and that had to do with their daughters being friends or whatever.

There was a few pictures of those guys shaking hands and acting all friendly.

I think those are in the pre race thread.

In the end, good for them I guess.

I didn't know acting friendly towards a friend was unacceptable :(

Not at all.

Its cool that they are friends in my book.

My issue is the fact these guys are too close while also battling for a championship. Seen some animosity, at least on the track would be cool.

But like I said, good for them if they want to race each other with curtesy. It only bows well for Johnson that way. lol

Good avatart btw. Like that one more.

lol, thanks! I like yours too ;)

So you want Tony Stewart, who out right dumps people cause he damn well feels like it?

That's all fine and dandy , but it doesn't sell tickets, drama does!

Not sure why their personalities are such a big deal. They bring their A game to the track every week, and are currently performing at their best.

If I wanted personality I would look for it in a beauty contest.

Gotta agree with this.

I always thought drivers known for their driving abilities rather than personalities were better for racing. Pearson, Petty, Earnhardt, Allison, Cale, Gordon etc when we celebrate their careers and legacy the one constant is and should be on how well they drove their cars.

The moments we will cherish are tied to the great moves on the track. They could be mute or speechless long as they know how to drive them cars and there are good folks like Barney Hall, Dave Despain etc to editorialize and add some color to the story.

Finally the best way to inject some personalty interest is to put scantily clad(^2) scantily clad(^4) trophy queens in victory lane. Heel strutting abilities, big smiles, and incorrigible camara hounding required.

I am all up for this. :D

Didn't they used to to that everytime at Las Vegas?

Them girls have on to much fruit the loom attire.
Bikinis or tight short minis would be better.
