Parker Kligerman and the Brad Keselowski Racing team have parted ways, the driver confirmed to SB Nation on Monday.

Kligerman, who sits sixth in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series point standings entering this weekend's race at Michigan, told SB Nation via text message the departure was "a lot to take in."
"I'm doing everything in my power to make sure I'm in an even more competitive situation from Michigan onwards," he said. "I thanked Brad for the last year and a half and we parted ways. No hard feelings."
The breakup was first reported by Dave Moody on his GodfatherMotorsports.com site.
Kligerman, who turns 22 on Wednesday, has seven top-10 finishes in 11 Truck races this season and is 35 points behind leader Timothy Peters. This is his second full season in the Truck Series.
"I want to win this championship and I'm going somewhere to do that," he said. "It became apparent we were not going to have the resources we needed to win a championship (at BKR). This was best for BKR to go find those resources."
By "resources," Kligerman is likely referring to a driver who could bring money to better fund the team. Kligerman doesn't have family money or sponsorship to back his career as some young drivers do, so he has to rely on outside sponsors.
This has been a tumultuous time for Kligerman's career. He recently lost some of his scheduled races in Penske Racing's No. 22 Nationwide Series car to Ryan Blaney.
Keselowski did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but BKR said he would drive the team's No. 29 truck at Michigan.
BKR said further information about who will drive the truck after Michigan "will be forthcoming."

-------------------------------

I guess Ryan Blaney may be the new driver. Ryan took some dates from Parker in the #22, and now Parker is out of the #29. He's 6th in points, 35 back from the leader. It seems like Parker decided to walk away, but to where?

Seems it was all his choice. What about to Red Horse? Maybe they found some sponsorship with Parker to bring back the other truck or maybe Turner Motorsports? Can't really think of another team that has "Championship" capabilities that may have an opening halfway through the season. RCR abd Thor seem pretty full.

Interesting.

I'd love to see Parker land a full time ride with ThorSport or Turner and race head to head against Justin Lofton in equal equipment next season. It's got to eat PK alive at night knowing that he lost the ARCA championship in 2009 solely because Justin Lofton got bonus points (per the ARCA rulebook) for running the full 2008 season. I mean, to win the most races, lead the most laps and score the most points and still lose the championship must really suck.

I'm curious as to who he has lined up. Maybe Brad told him to take the better ride.

He could even have a Nationwide ride lined up.

Maybe, but he seems to think he still has a shot at the truck championship. His truck was slow at Pocono. He drove his ass off on restarts and got in front of some faster cars and held on to all he could. The leaders were pulling 2 car lengths on every straight. I have a feeling he wanted better engines (thus the Penske comment) and couldn't get them at BKR. Since Penske is winding down their engine program, he probably gets whatever is on the shelf.

Good lord, FB just said that Bad Brads engines werent as good as other teams. I thought Brad could do no wrong FB.

worked with parker when he was edged out by lofton for arca title, great kid, and super talented, hope he goes to red horse, he's buddies with bodine and they can certainly give him a better ride than bkr, watch out he's the real deal

Hey Lovemonkey , welcome to the forum. That's a great post there . Inside info too .

I love Timothy, he deserves all the success in the world, humble, talented, ..., but he's gonna be in for a surprise w/pk in the stable. todd's all or none style is wearing out equipment and his welcome i would guess, we'll see if he makes it to the end. Ha Ha. PK is 5x better than lofton and he's not a spoiled brat at least he does not behave like one. Also with PK going to rhr he's getting into the gibbs world, w/open nationwide seat for sale(engine supplier). in my opinion more upside than sliced bread. peace

buscher will be strong, talent+horsepower=championship, although steady timothy should have a shot, it seems turner is more mistake prone, my opinion, pk w/ redhorse has an outside shot if they can pinch off a couple of wins, truck series is the best!

IMO, Beuscher is the best in the series right now, but what do I know. He missed a full race last year and finished just 29 back of Dillon in a Turner truck.

I still don't get Kligermans situation. He hung around Penske trying to get NW rides here and there, then he's driving a Ram for Brad. I guess he made room for Sam in NW and lost those rides. This is the first season BKR is fully funded, Parker stops wrecking trucks and has an outside chance at the championship, and he's out. Could it be Brad felt Parker didn't have a chance to win it all, and decided he wanted to jump in the truck at Michigan to evaluate the program?

agreed, some type of falling out occurred, maybe just argument, don't know, alone it may not have precipitated parting, but other events (dodge leaving, aj, new analysis of team moving foward, hell maybe roger found out he uses drugs for fun every once and a while and did't want the liability, I'll try to find out, should see him this week.

An inside contact. Cool. I guess it's not important, but I am curious. He seems like a nice kid with real talent who seems to be in the wrong situation time and time again. I hope he has a ride.

he's an outsider, and young, this can be a cruel sport, very unfair at times, if he can hang on for a while it will all work out, i hope

What do you mean by outsider?

At the start of the year, Brad said it was make or break for Parker, who had wrecked quite often last year. I thought he had made it.

he's from CT, has not have a lot of time to create the relationships necessary to avoid being undermined, the near arca championship is the 1st real exposure he got, although Penske obviously had some insight. Brad saying make or break does not mean much to me, Brads a good driver, but not one to know about another's career potential. He's still new, and only had relatively better equipment in ARCA. BKR is not that good yet. You know as well as I do that the ride can make a driver look good or bad regardless of talent. Anyway, I see your point that he may not be completly outside, but I think to a degree he's being pushed around by those with firmer connections. Totally my opinion, I may change it later.

That's what I'm saying. Obviously, Roger was going to take care of Sam in NW before Parker. When you really look at how Sam lost his cup ride, it was to get Brad a sponsor. How? Miller wanted Brad, which is what they said. So Roger had to get Kurt a new sponsor. Roger pulled some business strings to get Pennzoil, but that meant Sam's Mobile sponsorship had to go.

Stuff flows down hill, and Parker often seems to be right in it's path. I guess you could call that being an outsider. I just see it as a young driver getting bumped. Brad went through it many times early in his NW career.

Brad was certainly forgotten about till JR shocked a lot of people by signing him to drive the 88 car. Think Brad is a fine example to young drivers like Parker. Pay your dues and earn it and you'll find success.

I love it that you have an 'old school' attitude that talent and perserverence should get a young driver a seat . I may be out in left field ,but my impression is that looks and financial backing have become much more important . I listen to Parker on Sirius Radio (kickin with Kligerman ) and he seems to be a great guy , but I would be interested to know if he brings any sponsorship to the table.

I like that Jr runs his program as a place for new talent to get a start, rather than a playground for cup drivers. Brad followed the same formula with his truck program. I think Kelly Bires is still kicking himself for not shutting up and doing what Pops said. He blew a huge opportunity which he wont get again.

Red Horse Racing signs Parker Kligerman. He's 6th in the Truck standings, 35 points behind now teammate Timothy Peters.

Will be running the #7 @ Michigan.

MOORESVILLE, N.C. -- Brad Keselowski Racing announced Thursday that third-generation driver Ryan Blaney will pilot the BKR Cooper Standard/Draw-Tite/Reese Towpower entry in the Camping World Truck Series for select races in 2012. Blaney's first race with BKR will be at Bristol Motor Speedway on August 22nd, and he will compete in other select races during the duration of the 2012 Truck Series schedule as the BKR team pursues the owners championship. As previously announced, Brad Keselowski will drive the No. 29 BKR Cooper Standard RAM in the VFW 200 at Michigan International Speedway on August 18th.
Blaney, the 18-year-old son of current Sprint Cup Series driver Dave Blaney, recently made his Nationwide Series debut for Penske Racing at Iowa Speedway where he finished 10th in the No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge Challenger. In addition to his driving for BKR this season, Blaney is currently scheduled to participate in select Nationwide races for the Penske organization in the No. 22 entry.
"Ryan is undoubtedly one of the top up-and-coming driver talents in NASCAR and, with his being a part of Penske Racing, is a natural to run with us at BKR," said team owner and Penske Racing driver Keselowski. "He has been around the sport for virtually his entire life and is a pure racer. I believe Ryan will do a great job for the team and our sponsors as we continue to focus on the 2012 Truck Owners Championship."
With a winning junior developmental track record established in Quarter Midgets, Bandolero and Legend Cars, Blaney has also raced successfully in Super Late Models and the ARCA Series as well as the K&N Pro Series.
"This season just keeps getting better and better for me," said Blaney. "To first join Penske Racing and now get to drive the BKR Truck is a terrific opportunity. Hopefully, we can wheel the BKR Truck along with Cooper Standard, Draw-Tite and Reese Towpower to Victory Lane this season."

They going to need a extended cab truck soon to fit all that sponsor on the side.
