Hi, I'm a Nascar fan, but going to Chicago for the Indy race in Sept. I have never been to an Indy before, and am wondering if anyone can help me in who to root for in the Chevy class....except ....CASTRONEVES...I'm kinda tired of hearing about him and his damn fence climbing!

The whole Chevy class:) fence climbers or not, they got bowties :D Have a good time there!

Did you go to the Tropicana 400 or the Twister 300 this year for Nascar? I was just asking cause I noticed you are from ILLINOIS! I went...thats why I'm going to the INDY race. Had to buy a 4 race pack. I was going to sell the Indy ticks, but decide to go for the experience...before I start KNOCKING Indy and Cart.

nope, didn't get tickets for it:( The indy race should be pretty good, remember its a different sport than nascar, so expect different things to happen. Keep your neck loose because they are going to be going a little faster:D

oh and by the way, GO BEARS!

What year is your Pick-up and is it a 305 or 350? Real Nice! I also liked the Grand Prix GT in the garage in the Hunting photos. I have an 88 Silverado 350, but not 4x4. I wish I could have one, but with my disability...I can barely get into my own truck. Well anyways Nice Vehicles!:beerchug:

Dude u going to Chicago Land Speedway right? Man are u in for a treat!!! The track configuration is the same as Kansas the two Irl races i have gone to so far. Even if Castro' blows everyone's doors, it will be the best race u ever went to. There may not be thirty-four of them but they do run wheel to wheel and if they rub u know it when u see someones machine explode into the wall! If sheckter was running i would tell u to keep an eye on him but since sir crash a lot isnt there it might not be a race full of crashes.

Dupont, not sure if you have pit passes or not, but it definately makes the race more interesting. If you don't want to pull for my guy, maybe you'd like Scott Sharp. He's got a great personality and is a vey likeable guy. I enjoy seeing him do well. I'm not a big fan of Hornish, but he also drives a chevy AND he's third in points. Just eight behind helio. Either way, I hope you have a good time!!

:)

No, we don't have pit passes. Those are only for the EXCLUSIVE Ticket holders. We bought a pack of 4...to 4 races. We are seated on turn 4, 2nd row from the track. We are right straight from pit entrance. We saw the Twister 300, The IROC, and the Tropicana 400 in July. We like the track, but we have never been to an INDY race before. We aren't big Indy fans though...more NASCAR, but we just want to experience what its like before we can judge.

yeah, for the future get a pit pass for any race, its will be worth it no matter what:)

DUPONT, my truck is an 89 and its neither a 305 or 350, its the old 6.2 diesel. I bet you are thinking what? a diesel? other than being slow its not that bad, gets good mpg's and sounds pretty good. check it out here http://www.racing-forums.com/bbs/sh...=&threadid=8640 and the car is a 99 grand prix GTP, I tend to use it to its full capibilities which leads to me not driving it much, oh well :)

Dupont, not sure how tight yer budget is, but pit passes are only about $35 ea. Give or take a lil at each track. LOL, you're hardly even excited about going and here I would love to go. I thought that I was going to be able to go, but the plans fell through. I esp want to go now that the points race has gotten so close. Hey, I forgot to mention. If you don't want to pull for Helio, you can always pull for Gil in the #6 Marlboro Penske car!! ;)

We called Chicagoland about pit passes before, and they said the only sell them to the people who pay for the expensive seats. They said that since the track was still fairly new, they only sell those with the EXPENSIVE seats. We only paid a lil over $180 a pack.

I'll Try! I haven't watched Indy racing since before the BIG SPLIT! I know that it isn't the same as it used to be.

The IRL races at Texas are some of the best, closest racing I've ever seen. Chicago should be the same.

Don't forget earplugs or scanner with headset. Those cars are loud.
