Hello!
I'm from Russian, Moscow.
I know nascar very bad, bat i want know nascar better. Please, help me.
answers me:
1. What driver the best now in WinstonCup?
2. How race a celebrate?
3. Best servers of Nascar?
4. Where can i know a lot of news about nascar?

Welcome!
1. Lots of info can be found on NASCAR.Com
2. Best driver? Has to be Todd Bodine, he never wrecks!
3. Celebrate? Lots of Budweiser!

Speedway Illustrated is an excellant source to learn about NASCAR or right here at racing forums.

You can celebrate a race with chicken wings and your favorite beverage.

I'm not sure what you mean by best servers, but the races are useually carried by FOX for the first half of the year, then it switches to another station. Not sure what it is.

The best driver is undoubtably, Jeff Gordon.

Welcome to racing forums and congrats on your first post.

Welcome from the USA! And welcome to the forum.

I agree NASCAR.com is a pretty good source of NASCAR news.

Best driver?Proudly let your fellow Russians know it is Mr.Todd Bodine as Redrock pointed out.(RacerX was kidding about Jeff Gordon---American humor.)

How to celebrate?A tradition is the semi-regular 'bleeding of the scorpion'....a bit risky but a grand tradition nonetheless.Just tape the tail first.

Best servers.......uh.Yeah.I'll get back to you on that one.

Again,welcome aboard. :)

Welcome to the board wind racer. Nascar.com is your best bet for infomation. Celebrate any way you wish. Cold Bud, Bottle of Vodka or a good cold soft drink. Best driver well T. Bodine wouldn't be my pick but I will go with the flow.

Welcome to the American way wind racer.
Jayski.com has alot of info also. Bodine is good but my pick is Derrick Cope. Wins alot. To celebrate: plenty of white russians! :D

Best driver is the one leading the points...& right now that is Matt Kenseth!!! :D

O.K. 17Fan, Let's not rub it in.. :D

Thanks everything, for the shown attention!
Guys, understand, that I almost know nothing about Nascar!
What most well-known track in Nascar? In F1 it's Gran Prix Monte-Carlo.
Todd Bodine? But he has don't won one race in this season. Why not Jeff Gordon or Ryan Newman? They leaders of a season. Or no?
Still a question: John Andretti has what the attitude to great Mario Andretti?
And to me has liked Casey Mears!!! Such crush has arranged!
And how points in WinstonCup are charged?

Explain in detail, please, that such track program, intermediate program, superspeedway program. And mile-and-a-half tracks?

Always a pleasure to help out a new fan.

Your questions in order then:

1.Daytona/Indy....both well known for a lot more than NASCAR as well.

2.Oh,granted,those two are good. But as you see by the responses on here Todd is the one to cheer for.If you get an avatar, for instance,He would be the driver most would pick for a real eye catching one.

3.Yep.

4.And Casey Mears is a good guy.Uh-and a crush has arranged?O k.

5.By finishing order and laps led.

6.Different sizes.Just the size and layout of the tracks. Each car is 'tuned' to each type of track,set-up for whichever type is involved.

Hope this helps comrade.

TODD RULES!!!

The Todd Bodine thing is a little joke Wind Racer. While I am one of a few people who actually like Todd Bodine, he has not had much success in Winston Cup. Jeff Gordon is the most successful active driver with 4 Winston Cup Championships. Tony Stewart is the defending champion but has had some really bad luck this year.

The points awarded system is a little complicated. Basically points are awarded for how high you finish. There is also a 5 point bonus for leading a lap and another 5 point bonus for leading the most laps in any given race. They get something like 185 points for a first place finish, 180 for second, 175 for third, etc. The points awarded do not vary by track. The tracks configuration varies much by track, but that is what makes it so interesting on a weekly basis. John Andretti is related to Mario Andretti, but doesn't have nearly the talent or success of his more famous relative. I hope this info helps.

Welcome aboard, wind racer. You say you are from Moscow, Russia. Where did you relocate to? Here in the US?

Thanks for all!
I never was in USA but, I think I shall come the next year. I want to get on race.
What you would advise me? I think I shall see Pocono 500 on TV to the cartridge. In Russia it is difficult to be interested Nascar, but I work in news agency and it helps.

IMO do not go to Pocono for your first race, because it may be your last. I have been to Pocono and it is hard to see and the racing is not always very exciting. Make Daytona, Talladega, Bristol, Richmond or Martinsville your first. It will make your first race a very memorible one.

MY.02 cents

Windracer,
Here are the exact point earnings for each position.
Notice that points are awarded for each & every spot.
Unlike F1- The NASCAR boys will race for 30th position.

Here’s the NASCAR points system :

2. 170
3. 165
4. 160
5. 155

8. 142
9. 138
10. 134
11. 130
12. 127
13. 124
14. 121
15. 118
16. 115
17. 112
18. 109
19. 106
20. 103
21. 100
22. 97
23. 94
24. 91
25. 88
26. 85
27. 82

win the race & lead the most laps = 185 points maximum possible in a race.

Thanks Roselady3!
Has very much helped! I already started to understand a little in Nascar.
At me still a question... Even two.
What punishments for drivers for infringement of rules exist.
When it is given restart? (in details if it is possible).
