Job Description:
GMR Job Description- Social Media & PR Account Executive
The Social Media Content Manager is responsible for the creation, management and development of GMR’s client’s NASCAR Social Media Content. The Social Media Content Manager must have journalism experience and an understanding of the Social Media space. Candidate must be an enthusiast of motorsports and have a broad understanding of the NASCAR industry.
Responsibilities
•Serve as a “voice” of the our Client’s brand on all Social Media activation related to NASCAR
•Write and author content of the trending stories and compelling content before, during and after the our Client shows and NASCAR races
•Manage the cataloguing, posting, monitoring and engaging all of the NASCAR content for Social Media purposes
•Create social discussions and engagement with NASCAR drivers, on-air talent and fans
•Work with the our Client Production team to post weekly polls / tweets that will be used as features during show broadcasts
•Work with the our Client Interactive team to establish the communication and posting plan for content during each race weekend
•Assist the Account Manager on the planning, execution and recapping logistics for the our Client Social Media activation at each race
•Support and protect the brand by making sure that positive messaging is maintained in community and establish consistency of messages
•Document the successes and key learnings at each race
Requirements and Core Competencies
•2 – 3 years of PR / Media experience in the motorsports industry
•Bachelor’s Degree
•Experience with social media platforms and the understanding of how to effectively communicate with each outlet
•Strong organizational skills
•Excellent computer skills utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, Filemaker, Quark and PowerPoint
•Creative writing, diplomatic, cool under pressure and fantastic interpersonal skills
•Problem Solving Skills – Gathers and analyzes information, identifies goals, explores and selects solutions, implements an action plan and evaluates results
•Puts issues and work tasks in logical fashion and prioritizes accordingly
•Ability to adapt or evolve with changing or shifting priorities while still meeting or exceeding expected goals
•Public relations, Marketing, and Social Media experience, is a must
•This position will require a heavy travel schedule
