Not really, but found this news item

Let the speculation begin as to who tested here. But with the landing strip being very long without banking, why come here? Testing straight away speed I guess. Who do we know that needs more speed on the straights?

Danica?
Jeff Gordon?

hmm..

When it comes to testing, many NASCAR teams head to places such as Road America, Nashville, or a variety of other racing facilities sprinkled across the country.

Yet for one team, they took their test session to a whole new level -- space.

On March 11, an unidentified NASCAR team tested the 3.2-mile Shuttle Landing Facility runway at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Damn, you got my hopes up there, DanicaFreak. For a minute I thought that they had finally sent the Waltrips up into space (either to film a bit for Fox or just to get rid of them; you can decide for yourself which one I mean). Then I realized that NASA isn't sending the monkeys up anymore...

I can just picture DW in a space suit ....

Speaking of testing. The NASA NASCAR connection is cool and all but I think this is way cooler. I posted this a while ago but for those of you that didn't see it or know that this existed..... Check this out.....

The secrets of Laurel Hill revealed

That is the coolest **** I have seen online in quite some time, had to stop reading it to let you know. Also thanks for the link to the website. Favorited. I'll be doing some scholarly reading here shortly.

Edit: Imagine how amazing it sounds inside that tunnel during a full pull. ****** epic. Oh my goodness.

Cool to know that some of Chip's drivers have driven that tunnel hard through the gears. I love elaborately lit tunnels at highway speeds, I can't imagine 0 to 150+ like it was your job.
