NASCAR in space?

Let the speculation begin as to who tested here. But with the landing strip being very long without banking, why come here? Testing straight away speed I guess. Who do we know that needs more speed on the straights?

When it comes to testing, many NASCAR teams head to places such as Road America, Nashville, or a variety of other racing facilities sprinkled across the country.

Yet for one team, they took their test session to a whole new level -- space.

On March 11, an unidentified NASCAR team tested the 3.2-mile Shuttle Landing Facility runway at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

The PA Turnpike has more of these old tunnels. What a great use. For one of them at least.

That is the coolest **** I have seen online in quite some time, had to stop reading it to let you know. Also thanks for the link to the website. Favorited. I'll be doing some scholarly reading here shortly.

Edit: Imagine how amazing it sounds inside that tunnel during a full pull. ****** epic. Oh my goodness.

Cool to know that some of Chip's drivers have driven that tunnel hard through the gears. I love elaborately lit tunnels at highway speeds, I can't imagine 0 to 150+ like it was your job.
