Same old story as every other time they go to this track. Close to home for the entertainment industry and everyone has something to promote. I think you're probably safe to watch as none of them will actually be racing.

I know that Betsy is old, but TRL, you are my age and I know most of those names. If you saw them, you would recognize them. Slater was to become a big star and while he has made some good movies, he's never risen to the level many thought he would. Reilly is a great character actor and gets a chance now and then to be the headliner. And I'm sure you know who Kelly Osbourne is, or at the very least who her father is. He's become such a TV mug these days and nothing like he was when he was with Black Sabbath. Back then he rocked! I Am Iron Man...

Something tells me that despite his complaining, Andy is still going to tune in and watch the race. Or at least read about it so he can make his "Auto Club sucks" posts the next day.
But seriously, I don't have a problem with the local celebrities showing up at the Auto Club Speedway races. They're as much a part of the spectacle surrounding the race as Miles the Monster is for Dover, or the Martinsville Hot Dog is for Martinsville.
I know they're here to promote their own agenda, but that just goes to show how powerful NASCAR has because over the years.
Besides, seeing more of Audrina Patridge is never a bad thing. Even though I have no idea who she is.

No thanks, I'll pass. It's hard enough to go ANYWHERE without hearing about Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, Lady GaGa or Jesse McCartney and now one (and hopefully, ONLY one) chooses to invade NASCAR. **** that.
Then again, they need something to get the teenage girls to beg their parents to take them to the race because lord knows they have enough trouble selling tickets as it is.

There's nothing on the radio these days. If my radio is on it's tuned to an all-news station. I have my own music (300,000+ songs on an external hard drive) if I need to hear music.

Seriously, it doesn't matter what celebs show up. It's not like they'll be of any consequence. Other than possibly the occasional camera shot, or the pre-race interview, you won't see much of them outside the pre-race show. And if they bother you that much, don't tune in until the green flag.

On XM, I have Litium, boneyard, deep tracks, DFW/Houston, Indycar, and 2 empty stations
Soooooo, don't watch it. No brainer I would guess. I will absolutely enjoy it start to finish.

news flash...... celebs at races aint new....... If ya ever seen some of the clips from the Southern 500 back in the 60's...... people like clint Eastwood, Fess Parker, Alan Hale ( yep the Skipper from Gilligans island, but he did play a crew chief in Thunder in Carolina....) and many others. In fact, I remember goin to the 600 back in 79, and Richard Crena was there ( dad got a shot of him IN Richard Petty's race car, just prior to the start of the race...) Liz Taylor and Linda Evans were there one year..... it goes on and on...... Celebs have always been around racing, just like politicians..... its easy publicity for them, and helps bolster racing for some strange reason. Some make sense, like Steve Mcqueen and Jay Leno and others bein there, and some make none.... see Britney Spears at Daytona.( thank God they never green lighted HER racing movie.......lol)
as for me, I could give a rip...... they will be 30 seconds of airtime, maybe a couple minutes at best, then like 4 hours of racin....... so Im good.
