NASCAR Modifieds

They showed Stafford this past Wednesday, and this upcoming Wednesday they're showing Bristol. The last two were on VS. I think the Brisotl race is on Speed.

And speaking of VS. Anyone else watch this past week? They've got Ralph Shaheen as a pit reporter, wearing some sort of firesuit. He looks like the damn Michelan Man.

Wednesday night, there are two Modified races on at the same time.

SPEED is airing the UNOH Perfect Storm 150 from Bristol LIVE at 6pm EST.

VERSUS is airing the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour race from Bowman Gray Stadium at 7pm EST but will re-run Sunday Night at 11pm EST.

BTW VADirt, Versus is going to televising the Langley race! I love that track, perfect little bullring for the modifieds! :beerbang:

I'd love to go, but got kicked out by the <insert expletive here> promotor Chuck Hall. Highly doubtfull he'll let me back in. And I can't just sit in the stands, just won't work. Hafta be shootin.

Guys, maybe it's only here, but the Bowman Gray Race is on Tuesday and that is the time our local TWC has for all the modified races on VS. Check your schedules to make sure you can see what you want.

Speaking of modifieds, this year is the second year NASCAR has sanctioned races for the modifieds at Bristol. We went last year to the inaugural race and had planned on going again this year, but the wife couldn't get that day off. I changed my vacation plans and now we will have to watch it on VS like so many others. I'm sure I will know, however, the winner before most of y'all though. :p

One last thing about the mods. For those Madhouse fans, this coming weekend will be the final race of the season at Bowman Gray Stadium. The current champ, Tim Brown is fourth in the standings having experienced more people giving him the chrome bumper than in years past. Burt Myers is poised to take the crown away from Brown for his fourth title. The up and coming prince of the mods at BGS, Jonathan, Jon Boy Brown, is fifth behind Tim Brown but is plowing his way to the front, just like his mentor, Junior Miller. Junior on the otherhand, is mired back in about 8th or 9th place. Seems that his antics of spinning other drivers has caused him to DNF many races. Still, word has it that he is going to do what he can to prevent any Myers from winning another title. Myers is 56 points ahead of Brian Loftin, a former champ of the Southern Modifieds and is giving it a go again at the stadium. You will be able to see bothe Myers and Loftin at the Bristol race. Not sure if Tim Brown will be racing there or not. BTW, Jason Myers is doing well at the stadium and is running away with the most popular driver award. And the crowds at the stadium have gone through the roof, though the roof was pretty high in the first place. But with people who continually come down from Canada and other from up north, the average crowd count is well over 20,000, and that is during one of the hottest years.

Buck is right, TV Guide says BGS race is tonight at 7pm on Versus.

The rest are on Wednesday nights though according to Versus.com

Went to 2 Tour Mod raes while I was on vacation the past 2 weeks. One at Stafford and one at Thompson. If those races are any indication of how Bristol is going to go, watch out for Christopher stinking up the joint!
