Well, ****'s getting real.

Anthony Anders, who has been racing at Greenville and Anderson, leads Lee Pulliam, who's been running South Boston, Motor Mile and Southern National, by three points.

Realistically, Lee could race at South Boston tonight and leave with the points lead since Anders hasn't done anything in a month - which is typical. Anders usually starts off red hot and, by the summer, cools way down and falls out of contention.

Instead, Lee's going to Greenville to race on Anders' lawn to make a point.

Get your popcorn, folks. :lurk:

The other side of the story is that Kiker (LP car owner) protested AA, AA counterprotested, LP withdrew protest...

... and that Kiker was escorted off GPS premises by South Carolina's finest.

Travis Kiker says he was told he was not allowed to protest AA and that track was going to do a claim on LP's motor.

So is this what you wanted? Sounds dramatic. They don't like people driving up to romp on em huh? Locals only.. It sounds a lot like "pro" boat racing tbh...

If we're taking points from the start-and-parks, there's a car "5B" that was at Kenly on July 5th that we can remove from the results. But Kiker hasn't asked anyone to S&P this year. A'ight.

Outside of that annotation, it's not a great look for GPS and Anders. Unfortunately, politicking is part of the game, even at the grassroots level (especially with this points system). In a perfect world, Lee would already have at least a full-time K&N ride and Anders wouldn't have to worry about him.

The Ford/Chevy rule has to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. On more than one occasion I've seen late models with clearly-Chevy bodies and Ford logos or vice versa. I'm sure it explains why father and son don't even run the same brand, though. Convenient way to get the competitors' goods while protecting your own equipment. See a lot more bowties than blue ovals at SNMP, I'm guessing that's a trend at other places.
