NASCAR needs to inspect inspection

I remember hearing about that inspection part before. With that many cars going through inspection, the bottom few rarely ever get out to practice before making their qualifying run, compounding the problem. So for impound races, they may never turn a lap at the track except for qualifying and, if they make it, the actual race itself.
 
If I'm not mistaken, I think they eliminated impound races for the Cup cars sometime last year. But I agree it's a hinderance for teams not to get their full time for practice.
 
Unless things have changed, the inspection process is, cars in line for inspection get inspected as they line up, whether in the top thirty-five or needing to qualify on time.
There is time for the inspection process but teams make changes and adjustments and bring this problem on themselves, then complain and blame NASCAR.
 
Whizzer, the talking heads have said that lately, you get in line for inspection by your point ranking. Higher ups go first, bottom feeders wait. That is why most of practice is over before some cars make it.

So you're saying a possible solution is to have a variable clock where their practice time doesn't start until they clear inspections.
Or hold all practice for everyone until everyone has cleared inspections.
Either way...

either of those idea's would work.

also, there is a set time limit per car i think?? If they exceed that time due to repairs or any other reason they get sent to the back of the line?
 
I would think the fairest would be that practice didn't start until everyone was inspected. And to keep eveyone honest(LOL), after your car rolls through the line, it goes out on pit road with an inspector, and sits until everyone is ready.
