NASCAR Officials At CASCAR Race
Several top-flight NASCAR officials took in Saturday's CASCAR race at the Toronto Molson Indy, touching off speculation that Canada's premiere stock car series could be sold to the U.S. racing body. "Yes, we've been in discussions with NASCAR... they're already interested in Canada as a market," CASCAR president Tony Novotny said after Saturday's CASCAR event, won by Jeff Lapcevich for the second consecutive year. Four NASCAR officials watched the race and visited with CASCAR officials and teams in a day-long tour of the Canadian racing body. Top tech inspector Gary Nelson took a close look at all the cars and teams as they prepared for the Toronto Indy event.KOTV-TV)(7-12-04)
