NASCAR on TNT

I didn't think it was as good as Amazon Prime, but it was still much better than Fox.
I didn't think it was as good as Prime either. It was better than Fox but not much better. I can't be more specific because I was tired last night, so I'm posting just based on vibes and general impressions.

Same very strong team in the broadcast booth. Pre race group isn’t as good, pit teams OK, have no idea on any post race (was there any conducted?). Perhaps a different director, but they were kind of slow getting the replays queued up to show following incidents.

Still that broadcast team of Adam, Jr and even PopTart is really good.

I couldnt get the TNT app to play and the streaming service on Tivimate buffered like crazy the last 20 laps

I was at my local track Saturday night and recorded the race. I didn't watch any of the pre-race or post-race shows. The booth is the same as Prime. The pit road people are different aside from Marty Snyder. I didn't hear as much reporting from them as I did the people on Prime. Good camera work.

There is always an adjustment when the coverage team changes. I was happy just to see a race after my Prime hiatus.

It was great! I had it, could turn it on immediately, pause it and find where exactly the broadcast started after every commercial break, and the announcers kept me abreast of what was going on.

I’m sooooo glad I don’t live and die by the type of broadcast that bring me my races.

The last part is spot in! Just show me racing. I'd watch racing on a B&W 12 inch screen and be happy.

So about 170,000 less than Prime's lowest number of 1.77 million back in its second week of coverage.

In fairness, we don't know how many people watched on Max.

Still funny, after all the barking about how races would get higher ratings on cable vs. Prime and it's actually lower.

The trends continue to hold true. Cable is dying.

In fairness, I agree, although I don't know why we wouldn't know. We know how many streamed on Prime. Does Max not release the numbers?
I cannot imagine the number is significant.

WB Discovery pushes their linear side hard at the detriment of Max.

It is a very poorly ran company and it’s simply unfathomable that David Zaslav hasn’t been ousted.

The only thing I like about Zaslav is that he wants to preserve physical media and releases everything, including Max originals, on Blu Ray and DVD.

Another kind of underwhelming broadcast relative to what Prime was able to do. Disappointing, since all the tools available to them are the same. At least there’s still a full-fledged post-race show.

I thought so too. To me it would have been a no brainer for TNT to dovetail off Prime.

I mentioned it during the race but the scoring pylon is the most basic, most necessary graphic. If you can't get that right, you have no business carrying races.

I find the TNT pre-race stuff to be crappy. My wife turned it on about 12:35pm CST, and unbeknownst to me we were watching it on Tru. Don’t know if it’s different than TNT, but the segments with Burton and McReynolds are overdone and nothing but commercials for DraftKings gambling and the “in-season” gimmick tournament. The three person team led by Trotta is irritating and shrill. By 1:03pm I asked “where are Jr and PopTart?” Realized we were on the Tru alternate thing and moved it to TNT.

I like the booth of Adam, Jr and even Steve, although as PopTart gets too excited he screeches like nails on a chalkboard. Jr is funny as he reacts to things on the track like a regular fan and not a pro announcer. Adam is a super play by play guy…wish he and Prime did the whole series.

Pretty bad broadcast today, honestly.

I started out at normal volume & quickly pressed the mute button. For some reason the booth annoyed me today. Also it sucks only to see the lead cars when you know there are battles everywhere

The Tru programming is focused on the tournament, both pre-race and race.

I didn't listen to the gerbils so between MRN that does a better job technically of covering/describing the race and watching what was happening without getting bad or nonsensical information it worked pretty good.

Terrible. Logano and Chastain get into it, no replay and no follow-up with radio chatter (FYI, Logano was pissed that Chastain dumped him). I forgot the other crash where they had no replay of it.
And what was with the camera angles of the Bubba and Bowman battle? Maybe they are limited because it’s a street course?

I guess some need a silver platter. Didn't take me long to figure out who was doing to who and what happened. Sorry there wasn't super pixelated slow mo of carbon fiber scraping concrete I guess. I particularly liked listening to Bowman throttling up bumper on bumper and Bubba dancing back and forth before he disappeared from view.

Haven't been able to view it. No access to tnt.
Have so many extra services but not tnt.
Been listening on Sirius radio.
Its all just getting too expensive for a retired guy.
Fubo now costs over $100. Per month. That's going have to go soon also.
Going to be radio or stop following NASCAR.
Thanks NASCAR hope you are enjoying your $7.7 billion.
Been a fan since 1985.
Wish they would put all Cup races on their own NASCAR network and charge just one fee.

You can watch the race for free on YouTube the day after the race.
