Never let it be said that NA$$CAR does not listen to "experts". Word is that Talladega officials have, at the request of NA$$CAR, contracted with a local company to provide a Foam Dispersal Unit to be present throughout this weekend's activities at the famed track.

"After witnessing the events brought about by the accidental collision between Juan Pablo Montoya's disabled vehicle and one of Daytona Speedway's jet dryers, we at NASCAR consulted experts in the field of fire fighting. It has been recommended that a Foam Dispersal Unit be added to the fleet of safety vehicles present at every NASCAR Event.", this from a high-ranking NASCAR Official who wished to remain unnamed for this article.

"We witnessed first-hand at Daytona how challenging it can be to extinguish a kerosene fire. The best method in fighting fires of this sort is to smother the flames and eliminate the supply of oxygen to the source. Foam Dispersal Units are employed at every major airport in the country for just this reason. We feel as though this step was necessary to secure the safety of all parties after the near-tragedy we witnessed in February.", he said.

He was also quoted as saying, "We have also signed a separate agreement with Proctor & Gamble, the makers of Tide Laundry Detergent, to insure that an adequate supply of their product be available for post-event cleanup should that become necessary.".

NA$$CAR: On the cutting edge of reactionary reasoning...

....So they spent how much for a thing they only need if a once in a million chance thing happens again?

JPM was very funny at the tire test at MIS earlier this year. The blowers were located on the back stretch and he made multiple comments about them slowing him down.

Exactly They should have one at all tracks even though it would most likley never be used.
Seems like a waste of money.
Ummm kinda looks like that is what they are asking for?

Foam trucks should be at every race. Traditional water tank trucks are only so effective, even in standard fires.
