In addition to the list of driver picks and race results that are posted weekly, these are the two spreadsheets that I plan on maintaining on a regular basis (although I can't promise that they'll be updated every week).

Additionally, just want to remind everyone that . . . .

The deadline for submittal of picks for the next race is Friday, February 23rd, noon Eastern time.

For those that missed making a pick for the Daytona 500, it's not too late to get into the game.

New players to the game will receive 41 points for the 500 and, considering how poorly most players did in that race (the majority of the picks failed to get a top 30 finish), those new players will not be facing a deficit that in any way should be considered insurmountable.

Just keep in mind that . . . .

The deadline for submittal of picks for the next race is Friday, February 23rd, noon Eastern time.

This is a tough pick. So many unknowns with the Chevy that you'd be crazy to not pick a Toyota. I also don't want to burn an "A" driver yet either though.

The picks for the Atlanta race have been submitted (except for two NO PICKS :() and Jimmie Johnson in the #48 car is this week's most popular driver having been picked by five players.

Kurt Busch is the second most popular driver with four picks, including the current points leader @SlicedBread22.

Good luck to all and thanks for participating.

I just checked the entry list @pjmolo and Justin Marks is not listed in this race. Harrison Rhodes is in the #51.

Right you are, @Johali.

I'm wondering if Marks was listed on the original entry list as driving the #51 and it then got changed to Rhodes later.

In any event, the burden is on each player to pick a driver that is actually entered in an upcoming race.

Right "you" are. I checked the first printout of the entry list that I printed out from Jayski Sunday 2/18 and it has Marks as being in the 51.

Yep.

So many big names so early.

Meh.. Hamlin bc well I can't stand the guy so wanted to get him out of the way early. Got me the points lead early... and Kurt Busch well.. I'm fine with getting him out of the way early too.. don't matter if you pick em now or later points are points when you only get one... Kurt might get his best finish of the season this week who knows

Now in the instance would they be given points for the car?

No, the idea of the game is to pick a different driver every week, not a different car.

As stated in Rule #11 . . .

If a player does not make a pick, picks a driver that does not start the race, or picks a driver that was previously used, the player will be awarded points equal to the number of drivers that started that race, plus one.

However, if a player picks a driver that does not start the race, it doesn't count as a NO PICK and the player is free to pick that driver in a subsequent race.

bull****, why put a driver on an entry list if they are t going to drive

Some of the smaller teams seem to do that quite often. I nearly picked Marks last year for Talladega because he was on the entry list, only to see them change to another driver the Friday morning before the race

Tough break for kkfan, but Marks probably wouldn't have done well anyway, so not a big hit.

Interesting, the #51 car (with Harrison Rhodes behind the wheel in place of Justin Marks) never made it onto the track today as they skipped practice and then failed to make a qualifying attempt.

Harrison Rhodes in the #51 car finally made it onto the track today for the final practice and topped out at just short of 167 mph, more than 3 seconds per lap slower than Ryan Newman, who was at 184 plus.

If those cars were to maintain those speeds throughout the race, Rhodes would go a lap down about every 10 laps or so.

Ragan starting 29th is looking better and better. :D

Yeah, its a tough break but you have to know that team was gonna finish last anyway.

Nothing more than a throw away pick in the beginning of the season.

Suarez seems speedy, hopefully he can rack me up some early success

The Cup season is only two races old and the Pick 'Em game has three separate players that have already picked a race winner. Not too shabby.

Congrats to @DanicaFreak, @Blake Hylton, and @superchuck500 who each picked Kevin Harvick in the #4 car in the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Congrats also to @SlicedBread22 who, by picking 8th place finisher Kurt Busch, maintained his position atop the game's standings and increased his points lead over second place to 21 points.

This week's "Got No Luck But Hard Luck" award is unfortunately shared by @kkfan91 and @wilson89, who each picked a driver that was apparently on an early version of the entry list for the race, only to be replaced later in the week.

@kkfan91 picked Justin Marks in the #51 car (later replaced by Harrison Rhodes) and @wilson89 picked Corey LaJoie in the #72 car (later replaced by Cole Whitt).

Consequently, both @kkfan91 and @wilson89 each received 37 points for the Atlanta race as Rule #11 of the game's rules states:

If a player does not make a pick, picks a driver that does not start the race, or picks a driver that was previously used, the player will be awarded points equal to the number of drivers that started that race, plus one.

Hopefully this situation can be avoided in the future but to be clear, the responsibility rests with each player to pick, by the pick deadline, a driver actually scheduled to start an upcoming race.
