The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series returns to its roots this weekend when the Coke Zero Sugar 400 will be held Saturday night at Daytona International Speedway.

Michael McDowell is this week's most popular driver, selected by five players.

Chris Buescher was selected by four players and Trevor Bayne was selected by three.

Strategery, indeed.

Not only did @ChexOrWrex not make a driver pick for the second week in a row, for the first time all year not a single "A list" driver was selected.

As is common with restrictor plate races, the majority of players (18) selected a "C list" driver, the most since 20 players went with a "C list" driver for the spring Talladega race.

I have not touched ONE thing in a Pick'em thread. So don't look at me. I rarely read them anyway.
And there is no one else around. I only saw this because someone sent me a PM saying that something was amiss.

My dog had the temerity to post a pic of herself waiting expectantly for the picks list.

I’m so ashamed of her. Bad dog!
 
Although he failed to make a pick for the second consecutive week, the silver lining for @ChexOrWrex is that he won't lose any ground to @2 Sweet.

@2 Sweet got his pick, Timothy Peters, in on time but Peters failed to qualify for the race and is therefore considered to be an "ineligible" pick. However, @2 Sweet is free to use Peters in any future race.

Both @ChexOrWrex and @2 Sweet will be "awarded" 41 points this week.
 
Peters, despite his Yates power, got beat out by BK Racing, Ray Black, Jeffrey Earnhardt, and both of the Starcom cars. Go figure.

I knew I should have picked Gaughan.
 
McDowell looked so good for so long, then drifted back in the pack and taken out by double zero. Yikes. A 26th finish is not horrible for a back marker, but could have been so much more. Great picks played out for Kahne and Buscher. The dime store cowboy even finished 9th.
 
Finally some luck for Kasey on a plate track, hes always run well at them but usually gets caught up in someone elses mistake.
 
Congrats to @SlicedBread22 and @kkfan91 who take this week's "Highest Finishing Pick" award as their pick of Kasey Kahne held on to finish in 4th place in the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway.

Congrats also to @Michfan who had the most upward movement in the standings (four spots, from 11th to 7th) and has cracked the top ten for the first time all year.

And although his lead over second place (@Clutch) was reduced to a mere 19 points, @Blake Hylton continues as the game's leader for the ninth consecutive race.

Finally, @MIracingfan was removed from the game after having not made a pick for four consecutive races.

I think this is my best race since Bubba get 8th at Texas.
