NASCAR planning to mandate standard pit gun beginning in 2018

When I clicked on the thread I honestly thought it said "NASCAR planning to mandate standard pit gum . . ." :owquitit:

Then again, who's to say ?

It is either untrue or Nascar has not got the memo that if teams save money in 1 area they will spend it in another. If a team wants the mandated gun to work better they will employ smart men and women to figure out how to do it legally or illegally as smart people always can discover work arounds.

I'm sorry, is this being done as a cost saving effort? I missed that part of the announcement. :blink:

No, silly, you use a pit gun to shoot lug nuts.

I don't see the point of it, myself. They're too small to mount, and there's hardly any meat on them once you dress them.

It’s unclear how NASCAR could roll out the change, but the sanctioning body could potentially pass out the pit guns at the track each week in order to prevent them from being altered.
 
they knocked off a bunch of money getting rid of the crash carts and the specialized crews..now the guys have bear bond and scissors. I'm thinking a hopped up DeWalt 18Volt screw gun could be used here.

And suddenly the air ( nitrogen) pressures will start rising and the air hose will get better and stronger
