This is my first post in this Forum, and I am not sure this would be the best place to ask this question, but one thing I have learned about forums.....it is usually better to ask a question, because there is usually someone to give you an answer.....so here goes!

If you wanted to get into a VERY technical discussion with some of the tuners or builders that may be involved with cup cars....and even more specific.....restrictor plate cup car engine discussions......where would you go?

Straight to the nearest mental health center, cuz you'd 'bout have to be crazy to do that!

Seriously, if you mean online, I have no clue. If your question is more hypothetical, I'd start with Gary Nelson personally.

If you have a specific question, send it to one of the TV shows. They pick questions and give the answer. Ever once and awhile, someone will ask a very tech. question.
If you want to chat with someone online, you are prob out of luck. DEI, Hendrick, and RCR won't give there secrets over the net.

I assume when you refer to "tuner" you mean someone who can adjust a car to make it go faster as opposed to what seems to be the new modern media definition which refers to someone who knows how to bolt on a big @$$ wing, undercar neon lighting, coffee can muffler and hang a pine scented oderizer on the rear view mirror?

I can't tell you what each specific team will use or do for their plate motors, but I can help with hp concepts of an O2 starved engine.

Here are my references...please note...I don't build web sites!

This is by no means tehcnical but I heard Waltrip say that with plates, DEI has a way of reducing friction in the motor.

Thanks for the responses, I probably should have gone into more detail about myself, or at least given you all a little more info to go on.
I have been involved in building high performance 2-stroke engines since I was 14, (which was about 33 years ago.......yeah....I know......I'm an old fart!....lol). Since the early 80's I have been involved in designing and manufacturing high performance 2-stroke cylinders and heads, (as well as many other parts ), for several of the major players in the ATV and Snowmobile Industries.

In the industries that I am involved in, I can tell you just which websites you could go to if you wanted to get the attention of the top builders. If you were to start a thread in one of the major forums, the top builders may not be there at the time, but they would hear about the posts....and in short order if it warranted their attention....they would be there for the Q & A session.

I guess what I am asking is....If you had an idea that you had trusted a cup team with, and later found out your trust was not well placed, and you wanted to get the idea out to the competition.....where would you go?

Is there a site that you feel gets the attention of some of the cup teams?

I would go directly to the teams.

....I don't think nascar has an open forum like the smaller series....might try some of the media too, depeding on how pissed you are.
