NASCAR really stepped in it this time.

So, it's okay for Kyle Larson to dump CE Falk at Daytona but it's not okay for Ben Rhodes (who, ironically, would have won at Daytona if Larson had been stripped of his win) to turn a guy who throws a block on him on the last lap?

Video: http://www.wbtw.com/video?clipId=8689706&autostart=true (Notice how Milliken moves down on Rhodes).

Regardless of whether you think what Rhodes did was dirty or not, why did NASCAR penalize him.

Rhodes either got screwed at Daytona or he got screwed at Myrtle Beach.

Ben Rhodes shouldn't have been penalized, it look like a normal racing deal to me.

Errr, Milliken doesn't move down on anyone, because there isn't anyone inside him. He's running a defensive line and entering the turn.

We all know why Larson wasn't penalized for that dirty move after the first cheap hit on Faulk.

As I said in the Larson/Faulk incident, I am a firm believer in what ever happens on the last lap is fair game. But, if NASCAR is going to penalize and take wins away they need to do it in every situation and not pick and choose. When you're the leader on the last lap and you commit to not giving a lane, and the guy running second is committed to take the lane, chances are you're not seeing the checkers first. Let em' race.

Only thing consistent about Nascar handing out penalties is their inconsistency.o_O

Darn that Mike Helton and Brian France , what were they doing in Myrtle Beach anyway?

Honestly, I wish there was some way we could break the monopoly that the France family has on auto-racing in America. I know other organization have tried (and fail), but it's just stupid chit like this that makes me wish there was a competing league.

He got caught with his pecker......................Err hand in the cookie jar (numerous cookie jars).

All the holes he played after the 18th, never putting his putter away and not cleaning his balls properly got him a driver to the head.

Golf is rough.

It's no wonder they wont let you write the real headlines andy. Ever heard of "overdramatize". :p

@race22 Interesting read. Difference is Daytona was a unique event; consequences were stated clearly in drivers meeting Fri at Myrtle Beach

@race22 Any driver that didn't know if they got into leader & leader wrecks they'd get penalty wasnt paying attention at drivers meeting.

So the same race director and the same series set up a different set of rules because a race was on television? Interesting.
