From SPEED Center: NASCAR told drivers this morning that any driver who intentionally causes a caution by stopping on the track will be penalized three laps. Vice President Robin Pemberton says the penalty will be utilized for the rest of the season, but the number of laps will be determined by the size of the track.

Sounds like a couple drivers stopping on the track yesterday pissed NASCAR off.

While watching Race Day they also mentioned maybe even a driver spinning someone out

Well, that sucks. How do they separate a bump and run from spinning someone out?

Or is NASCAR now going to do the impossible and ruin the racing at Martinsville?

NASCAR race control has always had the option of parking a car if it decided that the car had "Intentionaly" drawn a yellow. Nothing new and not really a rules change they where just reminding drivers of their options.

I think it means if you need a caution I'm not sure.

Like say you're about to go a lap down and you spin someone out so you don't go a lap down you'll get a penalty then not just if you spin someone out as that sometimes can't be helped.

This is terrible news for Jack Roush. For the past 5 weeks, he's had every car with Roush-Yates engines practicing the Menard spin.

If you stop to get a caution so it helps a teammate...goal accomplished.
