FORT WORTH, Texas -- David Gilliland wasn't sorry for hitting Juan Montoya in Sunday's Cup race.

He was, however, sorry for hitting him so hard that it wrecked both their racecars.

"I meant to get him loose, I didn't mean to wreck him and ruin both of our days," Gilliland said. "It was just one of those racing deals, you know. I wanted to come down behind him and I just mis-judged and clipped him there."

There is something that makes me wonder if he is full of it or not. It's obvious that he was trying to do something but if he really wanted to take Montoya out, he could have done a better job without hurting his car so bad. Then again Gilliland’s not the best driver out there. Doesn't he realize that he is a very easy target now for Montoya? They are always running around the same spot most of the race, mid20s-mid 30s. Montoya can do a great job at making a take out look accidental.

and he can also blame it on short trak racing at pheonix next week. say they were going for the same real estate.

Phoenix is one of Montoya's better tracks actually. Finishes aren't there but he does have good runs.
