NASCAR settles lawsuit with Grant: At a mediation held in New York on December 3, 2008, Ms. Mauricia Grant settled her discrimination lawsuit with her former employer, NASCAR. Ms. Grant was represented by her attorneys Morelli Ratner PC. NASCAR was represented by Jackson Lewis. Neither NASCAR nor Ms. Grant admits liability or wrongdoing by way of the settlement. “We’re glad to have the case settled on mutually acceptable terms,” said NASCAR Managing Director of Corporate Communications Ramsey Poston. “NASCAR remains dedicated to maintaining a professional work environment for all employees at all times and we wish Ms. Grant well in her future endeavors.” The specific terms of the settlement agreement remain confidential and both sides agreed not to publicly discuss the details of the case or the terms of the agreement going forward.(NASCAR PR)(12-18-2008)

She sued for $225 Million. If she got 10% she's set for life.

NASCAR officials have refused to disclose why Grant was fired. But the response claimed a pattern of tardiness for which she was routinely reprimanded.

Mike Wilford, one official named in the suit, previously told The Associated Press that Grant never once complained about how she was treated in time the two spent together away from the track. Wilford also said she was a willing participant in graphic and lewd jokes and has “twisted” events to benefit her suit.

And it's the first news item to show up on msnbc.com...

WHY?

I don't see them giving that much press to NASCAR when Jimmie Johnson does what only Cale Yarborough (NASCAR's Joe Montana) did before him. They didn't give NASCAR that much press when Ryan Newman, Kurt Busch for Roger Penske swept the Daytona 500 days before his birthday. They didn't give NASCAR that much press when Juan Pablo Montoya, the first minority racer to win a major NASCAR race since Wendell Scott, won at Sonoma.

I don't see people from MSNBC walking up and down pit road at any racetrack. I don't see anything anywhere in the MSM about Gabi DiCarlo, or Chrissy Wallace, or Alli Owens, or Lewis Hamilton(f1), or Marc Davis, or Jesus Hernandez, or Lindsey King or Megan Reitenour.

But ... racism and sexism accusations ... Oh noesz!!!!!
