NASCAR star to Indycar?

I guess it would be a story if there was a name attached to it. It simply sounds like a rumor. 'I can't name the driver and I can't name the series and I can't name the team', ahhhh OK.

My guess would be either Kahne or Vickers. I don't think that Ford would allow Kasey to give it a whirl, but I can see Vickers getting the green light from Red Bull.

Well, it's obviously not Tony, based on the wording, It's not Robby, because I don't think he was in the shootout, who else could it be?

I wonder if it IS JR. Because Somebody could qualify the indy car ect, then Jr could fly down, run the race, get his check from eddie, and go back to the cup race. And $100,000 would help pay for the sponsor shortage on the 88.

Like the article said, Andretti is another possibility, since he hasn't ran IRL since pre-transformation, which would make the "familiar track" part logical. Also, Vickers or Speed might foray as an exhibition event like some of the comments on that page said. Although it said "talking to teams" which indicates that Red Bull could be asking to "borrow" a team.

Hard to say.

Andretti just ran last years Indy 500 for Richard Petty. Now the article didnt really say anything about the Indy 500 with the schuedual the only logical race without confrontation would be Chicagoland late in the season. Now who would do this? Well Kahne has had open wheel experiance before so maybe him. But right now im thinking Kyle Busch because I remember the F1 rumors last year.

I doubt it would be Kyle Busch, since he decreed that he was lessening his race schedule after last year and is now a team owner.

Good guess, You think maybe a little open wheel seat time to test waters for that arrogant punk to go over seas to F1?

I was thinking him or a midwestern driver like McMurrey or Carl Edwards.

Brian Vickers(has the Red Bull deal)
Kyle Busch(likes to drive everything)
Jamie Mac(drives for Chip)

They are about the only three I can see doing it.

Probably Derrike Cope or Kenny Shrader. That's about the only ones in the shootout I could see being allowed to do this by their Cup teams.

penske could give kurt a ride. don't know if he would want to. i doubt it. until something solid comes along i consider this just wishful thinking and something for fans to talk about.

Didn't Scott Lagasee Jr practice the 43 car the other day?I wonder what Almandinger was doing that he couldn't practice.

Andretti ran the Indy 500 last year, and he ran several races in 2008.
