NASCAR Sued For Racial Discrimination
A former African-American crewman who once worked on NASCAR's Winston Cup circuit sued the governing body of the U.S. stock car series on Tuesday for race discrimination and breach of contract.

David Scott, who worked as a motorcoach driver to one of the racing teams, claimed NASCAR executives deceived him and did not fulfill promises of a job following a well-publicized 1999 racial incident involving white motorcoach drivers, according to the complaint filed in Manhattan federal court that seeks unspecified damages.

Scott was harassed by at least two white motorcoach drivers from different racing teams, including being called "n-----" and an incident where he was confronted by the pair with one wearing a white pillow case over his head imitating a Ku Klux Klansman, according to the complaint.

When the incident was reported in the media, the complaint said, top NASCAR executives flew Scott back home to North Carolina promising him a future job, but while negotiations continued over the next five years, a job never materialized.

Scott seeks back pay and compensatory damages for loss of employment benefits and mental suffering.(Reuters)

Sure! NASCAR promised him a job.. I think I remember they also promised me a job.. If the guy wins I will be in line right behind him.

I want to know where my rac e team is, Nascar said they would give me one

i think this guy used to drive Micheal Kranfusse's (SP?) RV.....a buddy of mine worked for the 12 car at the time...apparently nascar promised him a lot of things if he would not sue nascar or something along those lines.

they fell through with their end of the deal.

a verbal contract can hold up in court...the problem is proving it.

Did you get to hear her little "rap" song she sang? I did hear an outburst from one of her "guards" saying that the "Uncle Tom" should be the one being interviewed. Jeez, these people still want to live in the 1800's. When will it ever end?

If his case has any merit I doubt this will ever be heard by any jury. NASCAR will not want the publicity...

The fact that this person is black doesn't mean he can't file a lawsuit. Jesus Christ, it happens every ****** day.

Wasn't Kahne supposed to drive a Ford?
