If you don't have it yet & are thinking of purchasing this game, pass. I'll assume like me that most of you are diehard's that know everything about how NASCAR is, with that in mind, they got this game all wrong. I have it on PS3 and as far as Pro's well the graphics are great, game looks really good on my 46" SONY flat. Also, Pocono is on the game, the later versions of NASCAR by EA Sports neglected to include the Pocono races. Now then, here are the Con's:
st: Cautions only come out when computer cars spin, not yours. This means when you get spinned out by computer opponents, which is common, everyone keeps going while you lose positions and laps.
nd: Multiple cars with the same number, example Michael Waltrip & Aric Almirola both carry number 51, only difference is Almirola's car has an "a" after the 51 on the door. Why not just number Michael's car 55?
rd: Not enough paint schemes, of all the different paint schemes cars run during a season, they only added a few. Jr for example only has his two primary schemes to choose from.
rth: Pitroad, if you get spun out and slide onto pitroad as a result you get blackflagged, only you, if the other car that spun you also comes onto the pitlane he simply keeps going not losing any time, WTF?
th: When the computer cars make greenflag stops, they don't peel off and blend, they stop in the middle of the racing groove and turn into the pitlane causing pileup after pileup. Sometimes when they leave the pitlane, instead of driving to the end and blending onto the surface, they drive across the infield back onto the track, WTF?
th: Lapped cars are faster than lead lap cars even when lead lap cars are on fresh rubber, again WTF?
th: The paint booth car template has no headlights or grill. This means if you want your created paint scheme to look like all the other cars, you have to make the headlights and grill manually, paint in the @ss.
th: During victory celebrations, everyone stands on their roof & most even do backflips. I guess Activision when they made the game figured what the hell who cares, the fans only like watching cars crash anyways we'll just half @ss everything.
Maybe they should have made the game for the Wii & left at that, not a whole lot of effort on this one. I dunno how they tested this and assumed they had a good product, obviously they didn't talk to any real NASCAR fans. Buy at your own risk...
