Nascar thunder 2004

I also liked Harvick's cameo.

"EA Sports, this car is in the game !" ^_^

If you read my post It says I liked Harvicks the best :D

I can't wait for the game to come out! Everything I've read and watched of this game seems to indicate this will be the best NASCAR game ever. I'm worried about one thing though. NASCAR Thunder 2004 will be the only EA Sports 2004 title I have for awhile, so I hope you will be able to unlock everything in the NASCAR game without having to play other EA sports games.

Actually there's this EA Sports Bio, you play different games and stuff like that and it increases levels and the number of levels you have, the more extra stuff you get.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm worried about. Will I be able to unlock everything in NASCAR Thunder without playing other EA Sports titles?

I think you can, the EA Sports Bio is also accesible through NASCAR Thunder 2004.

Anyway, I just called Electronics Boutique over here in Henderson, they said it would be here the 17th since it ships on the 16th. I'm gonna try and call the gamestop over here and check if it comes out earlier.

I hope so. It would make me really mad if I had to play 10 hours of Madden or win the Stanley Cup Championship to unlock a paint scheme or a track in nascar thunder.

I preordered my copy from EB's website, so I'll get it somewhere from Wednesday to Friday.

I also just bought Nascar Dirt to Daytona. That's a great game.

nascar2003 by papyrus is way better, although i havent played this game yet, the physics in n2003 are rediculously realistic

I agree with ya toddgee, it's unfortunate that Papyrus wont be making anymore games with NASCAR, however Project Wildfire is still there making mods for NR2003.

im still stuck with nascar 3, thats all my computer will handle lol, still a fun game tho, for those of you thinking of buying a racing game, the project wildfire happy is talking about is doing a busch, truck and transam mod, so you will have 4 different types of cars you can race with, plus they will be making additional tracks for the game by papyrus

Well today is the big day Nascar thunder 2004 comes out although I gotta work tonight so Ill have to wait till tomorrow to pick it up

Papyrus is/was the best racing game developer ever, and EA still has a ways to go to take that crown away.

I just got Thunder 2004, boys and girls. I'll post up a review as I play it a bit more.

Picking it up tomorrow , going to rent it first to see if it is worth buying. I enjoy playing 2003 especially in the career mode, that is pretty challenging.

Well I got my copy and I gotta say I love it although i seem to make more rivals than allies

If you liked 2003's career mode then prepare for more in NT2004. You really need to set your car up right to finish in the top 5.

:D I'm a rough driver too.

Looks like the PC version does not have grudges and alliances. I dont think it even had "share drafting". I wish i never sold my PS2.

It doesnt?

I was informed it does.

Here is a question for PC users. Is there a way to create your own car skins in paintshop (or another program)? and, how do you do it?

I used to paint cars for NT2003 now I'm painting cars for NR2003, still the same concept. Download a .PSP or .PSD file, those files act through layers so it's much easier to cut and paste or paint stuff onto a car. Download Paintshop Pro or Adobe Photoshop and open it there and start painting.

But, how do i transfer my paint job into the game. If it is to complicated, just tell me so.

For Nascar Thunder 2003 for the PC, it's very complicated and it's painting and import/export system is very hard compared to NASCAR Racing 2003 Season and I've only painted paint jobs for the drivers already in the game in Thunder '03. I've never created new drivers for it.

I dont think I can help you but I'm sure the guys at Blackhole Motorsports can. Just search around the forums, heres a link to the site : http://www.bhmotorsports.com/

thanks for the help i appreciate it.

i have another question to ask you since it seems like you are really into the racing games.

if anyone else wants to put their input in too, go ahead.

i was wondering how you set up your career mode? as far as # of races, race lenght, wear on car, and wear on tires?
I am looking to set it up so it is fairly realistic, but i also do not feel like doing 300 - 500 laps each race.

Is this for Thunder or NR2003?

Is Steve Park in the #30 on the ps2 version of Thunder 2004?

Yes Steve Park is in the 30 for NASCAR Thunder 2004, Jeff Green is in the 1, Christian Fittipaldi is in the 43

i day after getting 2004 and playing It I think my PS2 Just Died it wont play any games and I have only got in 5 hours of Nascar thunder 2004 F***ing thing

Hurricane, does it say "Disc Read Error" when you try to play the game. If it does, then buy a DVD lens cleaner (it's a DVD with brushes) and put it in and it'll clean the PS2 lens. Worked for me.

WOOHOO It is fixed and Happy29 yes it did say that so I took it apart and Cleaned it out with a can of COmpressed air and It works fine wooohooo but thank you for your advice

I've played this game for a few days and will offer my thoughts on it.

The good
-Rivals and alliances
-Better superspeedway racing and AI
-In general the ai stay closer to you and if you make a mistake they will go right by, the ai also blocks you and makes it harder to pass.
- Lots of paint schemes for Dale Earnhardt.
- Way better sponsors in create a car.

The bad
- The races are easier in rookie and veteran mode than last year. Martinsville stands out in particular, which imo was the hardest track last year. This year it's one of the easiest. The lightning challenges, (aside from the Benson one where you have to save fuel and the Jarrett bonus one) are way too easy.
-Watkins Glen still doesn't have the inner loop and Infineon does not have the cones in the last turn before the finish line.
-No special paint schemes for Elliott Sadler. What's up with that?
