NASCAR would never do this

Maybe not for blocking but they have taken a win away. Rudd's victory in 1991 @ Sears Point was taken away after he took out Davey Allison on the final lap. But, you're probably right. If they didn't take it away from Edwards two weekends ago..... It probably isn't going to happen again.

That was a pretty lame call IMO, didn't look like Helio was blocking, he held his line. As far Nascar taking a win away, probably won't happen again.

I just watched the video

It seems to start a little late. But right at the beginning the lead car appears to be traveling to it's left in a blocking move.. If there were a few seconds earlier shown along with the start of it, a better judgement could be made.

After watching this video, it seems pretty cut and dry to me. There's even video footage showing them talking about this rule at the driver's meeting like they do before every race.

I posted this over in the open wheel section, same applies for here...

Good for Helio for flipping out, he was absolutely robbed and he showed he wasn't going to lie down and take it. The officials should be ashamed of themselves for making this call yesterday. It was a fuc*king joke. Between this awful awful awful call and the f1 ending we had some pretty bad endings to the open wheel races yesterday.

I also hate the no blocking rule. Let them have at it.

You guys forget about NASCAR booting Jimmy Spenser out of victory lane at daytona a couple years back? They aint scared to take a win away lol.

Dale Jarrett was disqualified in a NASCAR Busch race at Michigan in 1996 or '97, giving the win to Mark Martin.

NASCAR penalized Carl 60 points. If that isn't taking the win away from him then what is? He might have gotten the trophy but the win was erased.

Regardless of how you feel about the no-blocking rule, it's still a rule. Helio was in clear violation of that rule.

I don't think they should have waited until after the race to issue the penalty, or given him a warning. But there is no doubt that based on the rule, he was blocking.

Lol @ blocking call on an Airport runway. I have said this in the Open wheel section and I will say it here. This whole incident is a disaster. The Indycar series needs more viewers to stay on tv and they go out and screw over one of there biggest names I can bet there next race gets record low ratings. Racing isnt pulling over and letting someone pass you for the lead with 2 to go, it is racing which that was. It is stupid crap like this as well as a couple other things that will continue to drag the series down, possibly to its death.

Totally agree.....the series has been in trouble for a long time and this bogus call sure isn't going to help it.
