NASCAR's new Deterrent System

There is now a 6-tier system of penalties.

Bryan Moss, Prez Emeritus of Gulfstream Aerospace 2 serve as final NASCAR appeals officer. Replaces John Middlebrook

There is going to be way too much detail in all of this. If someone sees an article on this, post it.

P1-P6 are the levels. P1, the lowest. They are going to standardize the penalties folks. Let's see how this works.

All of this is happening right now in a press conference.

NASCAR told us last year they were moving toward a deterrent system in which X offense would equal X penalty. Unveiling just that today.

NASCAR's new penalty system will classify offenses from P1 to P6. A P6 would involve engine offenses or fuel additives.

@bobpockrass NASCAR "warnings" will now be public

Sounds like a step in the right directions. Maybe now some of the penalties handed out will make sense.

I just hope they ran by the Unted Nations and obtained all the required notarized signatures.
Otherwise my day has been destroyed.

Whoever designs these graphics and flowcharts for NASCAR has been kept pretty busy this offseason.

I'd say Chad Knaus and Jimmie Johnson will be the first ones picking up trash.

@keselowski

Really really glad to see the big change in the NASCAR penalty processes. I guess being vocal does work sometimes..

Breaking news. Due to criticisms of Nascar drivers only making left turns, all 2014 Cup races will be ran in the opposite direction.

Yep, Bad Brad is taking credit for singlehandedly causing this change, how did we ever survive without his loudmouth err loudtweeter err whatever.

Right hand turns allowed? I bet that makes Dale Earnhardt happy.

Ummm - what qualifies for a P1 or a P6 offense. I'm thinking it is how much they Piss off NASCAR, which is just like the current system.

LOL I thought the same.

Oh Brad, whatever makes you feel special.

Good news as far as consistency goes but I'm kindof with Zerkfitting.

I guess we'll see what constitutes a P1 violation versus a P6 here soon...
