According to Thatsracin.com's 'briefly noted' section:

"Nascar officials warned Kurt Busch for aggresive driving in the first segment(of the Winston)relaying word to his team that if Busch wanted to continue competing in the event he should 'keep his bumper off other cars.'"

I dont like the bumphardts of the racing world either.I just wonder how many warning's certain other drivers recieved for these tactics?Anybody heard of any from the Winston besides this one?I am not even sure of which incident NASCAR is refering to.

Comments?

Well he wasn't driving any rougher than Jeffy Gordon,Gordon caused at least 2 wrecks, also Newman was kind of dangerouse too!

 Gordon is who I had in mind too,Mopardh9,but you know those fans are second only to JR fans in the sensitivity department!

Yeh well Jeffy is no longer the Primadonna that he used to be, he should of got called to the Big Red Trailer. Seems Gordon has done this more than once this season if i remember correctly. ;) ;)

Your right, he should have gotten something...Kurt only tapped 2 drivers...and Gordon wrecked 2.

I'm sure that Kurt's warning stems from his "comments" and actions from last years race. ;)

And we cant forget Stewart HE KNEW he could not of made it three wide,

(Now I am using the quote feature!@#$%$! )

No seriously, you make a good point,Maj.But it was Kurt's COMMENTS post race that got him in trouble, the bumping of Robby wasnt really a big issue.Just the fact that Kurt talked about it afterwards.A far cry from the out-right smacking that went on the other night.Just ironic that Kurt got reprimanded.

Wonder who old Ward Burton thinks should have got 'warned' though? ;)

Well, I can't really make any comments regarding the race on Sat. nite. I was watching the Maverick's kick some SAC butt! I usually wouldn't let anything interrupt me from watching racing, but both the race AND the Mav's game was on satellite and I couldn't watch one and tape the other. The Mav's game finished and I was able to watch the final segment of the race. ;)

i havent seen the race yet, saw some highlights and gordon was driving like an idiot (gordon fans dont get upset, i am one, and its true), when i see the whole race tomarow i will give you my full opinion, but i really am wondering what the hell gordon was thinking when he wrecked ward

I dont think there is any reason, he just wrecked him up into the wall... <_<

Calm down folks. What you saw last Saturday night is a direct result of the type of race that was staged. You put a million bucks in front of 14 drivers and they will do anything they have to do to get up front.

If you have to make the cut to be in the next segment, you push through a hole that isn't really there and hope for the best.

Most of these drivers will not make the same bad decisions during the 600.

Don't blame any of the drivers. Blame the race format.

Just my 2 cents.

GOD Bless America! :salute:

OH I SEE, DON'T HATE THE PLAYERS, HATE THE GAME

I agree, the environment of this type of race seems to breed certain behaviors, but ultimately only the driver in the car pushes that little peddle on the right. Each Driver is responsible for their own actions out there...regardless of the 'race format'.

NO, don't hate the game/race. Hate the format and rules that puts pressure on drivers to make bad decisions for our entertainment. With all that money on the line, The rules for the Winston encourage drivers to take chances and do things they don't normally do in a 500 mile race. I don't like the driver elimination process at each stage. I don't like the 10 spots inverted because stupid fans always vote that way. I don't like the way NASCAR penalizes one driver one time and not another one for doing the same damn thing.

The format is exciting for the fans, but I bet most drivers hate themselves for the things they do or are forced to do during the race to make the cut. Did you hear Stewart's comments after his crash?

I'm with you PB. I don't remember anything specific about kurt during the first segment at all. I do think Jeff has seemed to be driving a lot more agressive these days...

You folks will never learn,It just depends on who is doing it. ;) Dale Sr was praised for the same actions, and that action jumped up and bit him hard.Dale thought he was the boss out there on the track, and nascar gave him all the rope he needed to do himself in. ;)
