Anyone else collect old National Geographic magazines?

Anyways, I found a rare bird today at the bookstore: June 1985 (The Afghan Girl cover).

Oh, I couldn't live without my Geographic.

My college had all the issues from the beginning. I would spend hours in the library reading them.

I think the NG did a program a couple of years ago and found the girl. Of course, married with kids.

I have the 2002 issue from when they found her. I might have the video of that episode. I used to watch Explorer all the time when it aired on msnbc, before National Geographic moved it to National Geographic Channel (which is only on digital cable here).

I went to a used bookstore in town earlier and they had a ton of backissues for sale. I looked through them when I saw this rare bird sitting there in mint condition, had to buy it. Been looking for this for eight years (and I wasn't willing to go the eBay route to get it).

It's amazing, she was like 32 when they found her and looked like she was in her 50s or 60s. She still has those glaring eyes though.
