With all the talk about the Cup title lets look at the other two series. After the mess at Vegas the two man race for the Truck title has turned into a five man race.

1: Austin Dillon
2: Johnny Sauter -5
3: James Buescher -7
4: Ron Hornaday -21
5: Timothy Peters -25

After Dega we should have a pretty good idea which of these five drivers will win it all. If I had to put money on anyone it would be Austin Dillon

The Nationwide series is just a two man race now. It's either gonna be Ricky Stenhouse or Elliott Sadler.

1: Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
2: Elliott Sadler -15

I'm going with Ricky on this one. Sadler hasn't been very consistent this season.

Only 3 races left for the Nationwide boys with Sadler 15 points behind and Stenhouse runs Good at Phoenix and Texas.....
Going with Ricky!

With the trucks running at Talladega this week I'll wait till next week to make any calls there.
That Dillon boy looks good though.

If Ron keeps up his roll he's on he might get it. I think the pressure will get to Ricky and Sadler will take it, despite not winning.

I'd like to see Peters win the truck series.

In the nationwide I'd like to see Sadler win it but if he doesn't win a race this year then I don't want him winning it. The points system is completely a joke as it is and it will be even worse if Sadler wins it without winning a race. At least Ricky has won 2 races this season.

There is no way RCR/KHI gives Ron the chance to outshine Austin. If Ron was smart, he would get KBI to put him in a truck so he could go for another championship. With the 2 Dillons coming up, RCR doesn't need Ron any longer, so he should do what's best for him.

In the trucks I'm pullin for the underdog Ron, he came from the brink of not having a ride to being right back in the mix. I don't think Mrs. Harvick is willing to let her driver and team just lay down for the Dillons. I don't think that kind of thing is in her blood.

I'm pulling for James Buescher. What a great achievement if he can win the Championship as a rookie - and after not even qualifying for one race.

But I will be happy if Hornaday wins it too. And even if Mr. Dillon wins, I won't be disappointed. It's been a great season in the Camping World Series!

It would be stupid if they don't put Ron in the #2 truck the rest of the year. It's obvious that it's better than the #33 and Ron is in the title hunt.

That could mess up Grandpa's plans for Austin. I'm sure Richard will help Kevin understand that.

It's not just about the Dillions it's about the Camping World series. If RCR pulls rank on Harvick and they pull Ron out of the #2 truck that would end up hurting the entire series, causing their audience to say screw this I'm not watching this crap anymore, it's rigged.

Ron isn't IN the #2 truck, it's been a week by week thing. I don't know why they took him out of the 33, but they've been running Cale Gale for the last 2 weeks. Maybe it has to do with the new owners. RCR now owns the nationwide team, so KHI goes away after this year.

So much for my theory. KHI announced Ron would be in the #2 next week. We'll see about the rest of the races.

I thought they said they were putting Ron in the 2 when Kevin doesn't drive, to try and get the owners championship with it.

EXACTLY!!

And if Ron can secure another driver's championship, all the better!

Childress has no involvement in the KHI truck team, except for the ECR engines.

You know what, I like Austin Dillon & the Bass Pro #3 truck but damnit Ron needs this title alot more than Austin doe's. If Harvick leaves Ron in the 2 for these last few races, I think he may be able to pull it off. He's a better driver than Austin, i he makes it through Talladega with a top 5 finish, I think he'll take it. As far as the Nationwide title, I guess I don't really care I mean maybe Sadler which would be awesome seeing as how he hasn't won a race all year...

OK, I didn't know that the #2 was in the owners championship. I guess Kevin would be OK with sitting out all the truck races while he concentrates on a Cup title.

A Hornaday title with a Austin Dillon runner-up would be cool IMO. I'd like to see Ron win one for us old folk & I'd like to see RCR's grandson do well too. It seems many on here don't care for him much ala the Paul Menard scenario. Blah, blah, if it weren't for his granddaddy havin money, he wouldn't even have a blah, blah, blah.....

I think that Austin and Ty are the real deal, myself. The fact that Grandpa is who he is certainly helps but those two are apparently damn good racers!

I've watched Ty in a few Arca races. He may be the real story in the Dillon family.

Well, you really can't judge based on that. It's easy to look like a giant when standing around midgets.

Is that kinda like being the fastest horse in a one horse town?

As a vertically challenged individual I don't get your referance ;)

Yep. Watched every televised ARCA race, I can count how many quality passes Ty has made on two hands.

Every race he won, he either:

Wrecked Frank Kimmel at Toledo
Started on the pole and led the whole race
The leader of the race blew a tire or motor, handing the win to Ty
Got the lead in pit stops and held on in a far superior car

I'm not sold on Ty Dillon. I saw the same "real deal" in ARCA ten years ago win several races a number of same way. His name was Kerry Earnhardt.

Andy, don't be offended if I pass on your evaluation of Ty's racing skills. ;)

5 years ago I was telling anyone who would listen that a kid named Keselowski would one day be a cup champion. Ty shows some of the car control Kez has in spades. He also thinks his way through the race, and varies his line to get more out of the car. I also see a lot of patience from Ty for such a young guy.

IMO, 2 years from now, Richard will be trying to decide which Grandson should be the first to move up to cup. I really think Ty will surpass Austin fairly quickly.

1. Not the 1st time a driver has wrecked another for the lead/win.
2. Means driver and car was both good that day.
3. He was in position when leader blew tire, couldn't do that running in the back.
4. Means he has a good crew and somebody has to have a superior car. why not him? ;)

I'd like to see Peters win the truck series.

U bet cha!, Peters would be a deserving champ, butch hylton has pushed him to be better, and he's stepped up, very good shoe, especially short tracks

It's funny that you bumped this thread. This was for last years championship. For this season I still want Peters to win but Sadler has annoyed me a lot during the conclusion of last season and during this current season. I'm no longer rooting for him. Honestly at this point there isn't really anyone I like in the Nationwide championship race that actually has a shot to win. I'd like to see Sam Hornish Jr. get some wins and rally to win the championship but that's a real long shot.

I think that both Sadler and Hornish are in' must win' situations ,with regard to continuing their cup careers .
