I know there aren't many NBA fans in here, but I figured I'd post this anyway.

Kyrie Irving was pretty amazing in winning the 3-Point shooting contest. He already has some of the slickest crossover and penetrating skills in the game and now he's showing that if you play off of him he will light you up from deep as well.

The Slam Dunk Contest had some nice moments. The finals had some pretty awesome dunks. The one where the guy dunked over a covered canvas and then revealed that it was a painting he did of himself doing that dunk was great. I thought he should have won it, but the fans voted for the other guy. His dunks were nice as well, I just didn't think they were as good. I figured when he jumped over the little kid he would get some votes just because he used a kid. But I've seen guys do the same dunk but with jumping over adults, which is much more impressive. Overall the dunk contest was kind of weak, but then at this point everything has a "I've already seen it" feel to it. I'm not sure what they could do to fix it. Actually having NBA players people have heard of would be a good start. But guys like Lebron will never do it because they are afraid that if they lose it will hurt their "brand".

I dunno, I thought Ross won it pretty easily. Not only did he jump over the kid, but he went between the legs without smacking the kid upset the head. Obviously it would be impossible to do that with an adult. Lol

Overall, one of the better dunk contests as of late, but still weak. It's nothing but a joke anymore and they need to just axe it. The real stars of the games egos won't allow them to participate. When was the last time anyone relevant was actually in a slam dunk contest?

The slam dunk competition you should have one chance to dunk it and if you can't you get a 0. The old dunk contests were legendary because big name stars were involved and they got it right the first time. Its embarassing watching some guy do something 10 times and then have to settle for a less than steller dunk .

I get that, but I also get that getting a chance to retry a dunk gives you the freedom to really go for it and try some daring things. But, maybe you should get one do-over. Watching a guy retry the same dunk over and over again is certainly not entertaining. I do think though that you should lose a half a point or something. It bugged me the other night when a guy tried a dunk like 5 or more times and when he finally nailed it, they gave him a perfect score. How does that make any sense?

Gotta agree with wilson. One and done on those dunks. Even after these guys made them, they still weren't that impressive, in my opinion. I'm not saying this contest has run it's course, but we need someone to step up and show us something we have never seen.
Although, I will say, the "ball behind the back" dunk was sort of creative. But it took the guy about three tries, though.

I'm definitely an NBA fan. My Suns stink, but I'm gonna support them through these bad times. And they're really bad.

My NBA finals wish is the Clippers vs. Heat.
Look out for them Clippers, if they stay healthy (unlike last year).
