Interesting read: http://dalyplanet.blogspot.com/2011/10/nbc-sports-invades-espns-backyard.html

I see NBC and NBC Sports Network getting FOX and TNT's deals. As the blog post states, SPEED saying they won't air any other NASCAR events outside what they have and won't develop NASCAR based TV shows has NASCAR slightly perturbed.

VERSUS does a great job with IndyCar, I'd love to see NASCAR end up on NBC.

I hope not on Versus though, because I don't get it at school

Still two years away from NASCAR ending up on NBC.

NBC Spors Network does not air the big events. Only reason IndyCar isn't on NBC is because IndyCar signed a contract prohibiting NBC Sports from airing races on broadcast. Randy Bernard's going to be the death of that series.

Ah well I'll be graduated by then

NASCAR on VS would be disasterous for NASCAR - unless VS is made more available to NASCAR fans...

Yep. IMO, the only way NASCAR gets the wide audience they want is to do it all themselves, or switch Cup races to Saturday.

Yeah it would be a mistake for Nascar to land on VS. As far as NBC goes we already tried that once and NBC didn't give a half ounce of Canadian mule pee about Nascar.

Or, if NBC SN isn't widely available yet, they could toss the night races to USA, CNBC or MSNBC.

Somebody over at Newscorp hates the world

They're giving 20 million subscribers at DirecTV the finger.

Then, they are giving NASCAR the finger.

:confused::confused::confused:

They're only giving a few million the finger, seeing as SPEED's highest ratings are 2-3 million for their lone Sprint Cup broadcast. The only non-Spitcup broadcast on SPEED to net over 2 million viewers was the 2010 ARCA race at Daytona (the power of Danica).

FX has two shows that net them over 3 million viewers. Other than that, the FOX cable networks (minus FOX "News" Channel which is not at risk) just don't have the viewers. SPEED is, and always will be, a second tier network. Once FOX realizes that, this thing goes away.

Ahhh....you can always count on Chris Jericho for a good line!

Anyway, we used to get Versus, now we don't...so I hope this doesn't happen myself!

That you can, that you can, his book is full of them(well one of them lol i don't got both)

Anyway hopefully if they do this the races are on a Network everyone gets, I mean I'm not worried about it being on Versus for myself as I get the network and can see them but I'd hate if anyone missed out on a race or anything, I don't just think about myself seeing the race :)

So it's okay to give a "few million" hard working bill paying customers the finger??? Some of us only bought ( and paid extra for ) the DirecTv/Centurylink package that we did because it Included SPEED!!!
