Anybody else following the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament? I have a potential $250 at stake in my office pool, making things somewhat more interesting. I got Louisville, Ohio State, Florida, and Miami in the Final Four, with Ohio State winning the whole thing. We'll see how it goes.

I don't watch basketball but I have a question. What's the point of the NIT? Why have a tournament for teams that didn't make the real deal? Forgive me if that's a stupid question I have ZERO knowledge of basketball.

The NIT is kind of a "best of the rest" tournament. Other than proving who the 69th best team in college basketball is, it doesn't really serve much of a purpose. I don't follow that one very closely, but I did get some joy out of hearing that Kentucky got eliminated in the first round of the NIT yesterday.

You could see my school in the CBI tournament, where you go if you couldn't get in the NIT.

I stopped caring after the University of Vermont choked and lost to Albany in the America East finals. Then didn't make the NIT because we weren't regular season champions so that went to Stony Brook, so we ended up in the CBI losing to Santa Clara. On the other hand I called the Robert Morris upset of Kentucky.

I'm tied for 3rd in my money pool. I'm currently losing Cincy-Creighton and Kansas State-LaSalle though.

I watch ever game I can. I like watching college sports and there's a lot of excitement packed into a single elimination tournament like this. My bracket looks pretty piss poor so far this time around but hey, so does everyone's.

I gotta say I'm doing ok with my bracket so far. I didn't have any of the teams that have lost so far going any further than the Sweet 16. Everybody in my Elite 8 is still alive.

Very interesting day today. 12-seed Oregon and 9-seed Wichita State both pull off significant upsets.

I think what this tournament's lacking this year is those famous buzzer-beaters.
Feast or famine, it seems.
Hope it's all about to change ....

Great day of basketball. Four games go down to the wire and FGCU is the first 15 ever to go to the Sweet 16.

I never got around to making out a bracket this year, but it's just as well. I would have had New Mexico, Georgetown, St Louis, Gonzaga and several other teams going pretty far. So, it would have been kindling after the first day or two.

I'm the biggest Ohio State fan out there, but I didn't have them going to the Elite 8. I just didn't trust their other players to score enough. Deshaun Thomas is a truly gifted scorer, and has been my greatest wish for the Cleveland Cavaliers to end up with for a long time. You know what you are going to get from him just about every night, but other guys like Laquinton Ross can go for 20 one game and go for 3 points the next. It's really hard to make a championship run like that.
