I had my fiancee pick me up from work on Monday because she used my car. She sat in the back seat with her 10 year old boy while my coworker sat shotgun.
I had to stop and get gas so I took the back way home. When I got to the road I needed, there was a road closed sign. I didn't want to go all the way back around so I decided to see if I could get through. I thought maybe they put up signs for a construction project in the mourning. When I was about 100 yards from the end of the road, sure enough the road was closed. I had to turn around.
I started to back into a driveway but stopped and pulled forward before I even left the surface of the road because I didn't want to drive through the persons yard or hit their parked car. Just then there was a rap on the window and a lady in a dark outfit was yelling at me to back off the road and show her some I.D.. I thought she was an officer (I knew one lived somewhere on that road because I see the parked police car there all the time) so I gave her my license and asked if I was lined up with the driveway so I didn't end up in the grass. At this point I knew I made a mistake. The women became irrate and told me she did not care if I ended up on the grass, that she just wanted me off the "explative" road and that the police were already on their way.
I thought "well good, I can not wait for them to get here". I still sat on the road and the woman had my license hostage and said she had my plate number so it would do no good to leave. I still didn't know what she was so upset at. I asked for my license back and she said I could have it back when the police showed up and If I had any questions, I could ask her boy that apparently came out of nowhere. This guy was easily 6 ft and some change, 300 plus pounds.
My Fiancee tried to ask her what the problem was and are hostess said "shut the "explative" up "explative". I was a little alarmed at this point.
She told me to back up again and I tried to enquire what all the hassle was about. She looked at her son and said I have a better Ideal, "just pull the "explative" out of the car" as she reached for the door handle. I slammed my hand down on the door lock and cranked the window up.
At this point I was wondering what was taking the police so long in getting there.
The women at this point asked If I could row down the window and we could talk about it. I said Hell No and pointed out that she just threatened to have me dragged from the vehicle.
My girlfriend was irrate because the women was scaring my future stepson half to death and she kindly pointed this out to our captor. Our captor then enquired about our ages that we were more than happy to supply her with that bit of info so that we could work things out without me being dragged from my car. My coworker, who was also scared out of her mind replied "I think I'm 52".
The women then told us about her daughter that had over dosed on crystal myth and that she was in a rehab clinic. She thought we were her friends and all she was doing was trying to protect her daughter. She handed me back my license and told me I could go. I was more than glad to Oblige.
When we finally got home we called the police and they told us that they were aware of what was going on and that the womens daughter was not in a clinic but missing and feared dead. The lady was doing some kind of bounty hunter sting and that she had actaully caught some highschool kids that were useing that house as their crack house.
Now that I look back on it, I asume that our captor was probably as scared or more scared than we were and don't worry, I was not about to be dragged from my car. If the big guy came near my car I would have been flinging gravel all the way down the road.
