got to have some questions ready for my next class.

im going to give a spech on "racing is a sport" but i got to have 10 questions for the class so i know what they think about racing and sports. i have these so far

1) Do you call racing a SPORT? (if you do skip to question 3)

2) If not why?

) Name something you call a sport and why it is a sport to you.

4) Do you think they are just driving in circles for up to 600 miles a race?

thanks

Compare the g-forces race drivers endure to other sports.

How much weight can a driver lose in Daytona in July as compared to a NBA player playing 45 minutes.

Is driving 500 miles more physically taxing than playing 18 holes of golf?

Yes.

Pretty much everything common for a sport. Sport definition...

An activity involving physical exertion and skill that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often undertaken competitively.
Driving 200 mph in intense heat, with a complete exhaustion of body fluids and muscles to drive a car. Endurance needed to deal with this exhaustion. Stamina to be able to keep through this exhaustion and endurance and still have some left to celebrate in Victory Lane. :)

NASCAR has rules and regulations and obviously is competitive.

Anyone who knows NASCAR, there are no circle shaped tracks. It's ovals, tri-ovals, and a few road courses. The degree of skill required to maneuver these tracks are mentally more challenging that any other common sport.

And until I see a guy shooting a basket at 200mph, or a golfer in a 200mph golf cart, it's more of a sport than the others.

That's it from me... do the rest of your own homework!!! :p

Yep, they work-out I am sure. Drink their gatorade/powerade. Use muscles in what they do, sweat, and look damn good in their uniforms... :)

I think jggirl says it all!
